There's an old saying in Indiana that says never discuss basketball with a guy from North Dakota w/ a John Denver avatar.

There's an old saying in North Dakota that says the only redeeming quality Indiana has is that some priests built a college by a big ass lake.

What exactly happened that left you in a coma for the entire decade of the 80's?

I'm not sure, if it was the drugs, alcohol, glue, steroids or alzheimers! lol

I remember the Bad Boys, McHale, etc. quite well. I was thinking more along the lines of the 60's and 70's when longing for real basketball.

This was kind of cool. Still down 2-1, but not out.

I always thought that was such a strange dynamic...

It's just basketball there now also. They went class basketball and killed it. We averaged 8000+ fans a night my senior year. The gym held 7400. I went to most ND weekday games in high school and I'd say with confidence that we outdrew ND unless IU, UCLA, DePaul or Marquette was in town.

Today my high school gets maybe 1000 unless it's sectionals or regionals which they host.

I think this is more an indictment to the current state of Region basketball. There were NBA level players each year at many different schools that ate, slept, and pooped within a few city blocks of each other, now they are lucky to get one every decade or so. There was a time when the Region could hold its own with or best the talent churned out by the Indy schools, that time passed about 15 years ago.

The collapse of Gary's education system and pretty much everything else in that city has a heavy hand in that. The last great team from the Region is that West Side team that cut down the nets around 2004, or the EC team from right around then.

I'll put up 400M against your 800M and take the Cavs.

You don't agree with the line? Are you looking for even money when the Warriors are 1/2 favorites?

Thanks Crusader. Anyone want to go straight up on tomorrow's game. I'll take GS. Odds have to had shifted.

Go anyone who isn't playing on Lebron's team.

Are you all still arguing over how many games to eliminate the Cavs? Or who will win the "next" game?

All my vbucs on GS, straight up and on the road game 4. Takers?

Any update on Love yet? If they are stupid enough to play him more than garbage minutes, you are stealing money.

I really don't get where this is coming from. He had a great game 1 statistically and an average or middling game 2 until he was concussed. If anything Kyrie was the f*ck up this series until last night.

He is probably the worst defender of either team. When him and Kyrie are on the floor together, the Cavs get scorched. Kyrie creates more plays and compliments Lebron better. That's my opinion at least.

You don't? That is on you. What Wooly said plus 0-2 with him...1-0 without.

He is just not playoff game ready.

Love needs to be 'the man' on the floor to be fully effective. That's not going to happen with Irving and James on the floor. He's a great player, just not when he starts on this team.

Literally any offense.

See I thought Kyrie was playing WAY worse than Love this series until Game 3. I have no doubt I'm wrong but Kyrie looked like he didn't give a shit about defense in the the first two games, whereas Love at least was getting boards. Also I thought Kyrie was killing the Cavs on offense by dribbling the clock down and trying to play hero ball. He played better the third game, but Love had one middling half this series from what I can remember. He got a double double game one and got concussed in game two. I'm not saying I'm correct, but I'm surprised that the "Love sucks" train is so full.

What is GSW doing to expose Love then?
Anything with the words 'pick' or 'roll'.

Problem is there's a much larger gap from Kyrie to his replacement than there is Love to his. Love is easier to replace as a starter and as a player can provide more off the bench in this finals match up than he can as a starter.

By no means do I think Love sucks. He's a damn good player, but homeboy can't play a lick of defense. I defended him when they acquired him, but he has shown me how wrong I was about the importance of defense in his game. He's a big man, which means part of his role depends on defensive physicality. Which is by far the worst part of his game.

Kyrie is also a horrid defender. But there is no doubt that he took over game 3. His play was the defining part of the game. Love literally never does that, and when they are both on the court at the same time, half of the team isn't playing defense whatsoever. You can't have that. I think they should bring in Love off of the bench. Create different personnel packages for different game scenarios. That's where Love can be a contributor.
