My dream involves every aspect of that game, including the uniforms, is locked in an underground vault for eternity.

I think that game was where I became a true pessimist... I honestly still haven't recovered... The 91 Orange Bowl, BC 93 and that game... unfortunately those defined my fandom.

Bush push was more crushing to me, though not by much.

It was up there, but I was hoping against hope to win that game... the Michigan game, we were the better team, had been the better team for a few years, and kept losing... I've never lost it like that over a sports game, I flipped a major shit.

Agree. Think I've said it on here before, but that night was literally the only time I've ever been in a fist fight over a sporting event.

We've all done things we regret.. part of life... For me, one of my worst moments was the final whistle of that UM game, I lost it in front of my family... big time... hard lesson.

The Tulsa game for me. Completely lost my shit and in front of a bunch of friends and their family. Quite regrettable.

Florida State, offensive pass interference. I was jumping around screaming "WE WON! WE WON!" like a maniac and then when I saw the flag, I believe my exact words were "motherfuck me in the ass."

Luckly it was only my wife.

After scUM in '11, I had a mental breakdown in front of my friend's entire family and their friends. I left their house without speaking to anyone, after having partied with them in jolly fashion all day. Didn't say thanks for the party or the food. I didn't even tell my girlfriend (now wife) that we were leaving. I was in such a rage that I didn't consider the fact that she also needed to drive home in the car.

I pulled off my jersey before I got in my car, got out my lighter, and held it to the fabric... And then realized that I was ashamed of myself more than my team. I threw my lighter into the street and carefully folded my jersey and put it in the back seat.

I was still so salty about the loss that I didn't talk to anyone all week. Literally. I did not speak to a single person aside from some passing remarks to my girlfriend until the next Saturday, when ND turned it around and ran train on Sparty.

ugh,...

I have never let myself watch a game in front of friends and or outsiders, just in case... lol

We are all different, but something about ND football seems so 'high stakes' compared to all other sports/teams... I find, for me, the best way to manage everything is to either not watch or pay attention (I tried, it's too hard) or to just lower my expectations completely and truly expect a handful of bad loses each year...

If I have an unhealthy obsession, or addiction, in life it's ND... or more accurately and honestly, the fierce desire to see them win a national title at some point... I guess some here would understand but most don't, it really does take active managing.

Oh that's a pretty normal reaction in my house hold... when I say I lost it with the UM game I mean literally (and I've shared this before) that my neighbors across the street, again literally, pulled out lawn chairs and were watching me go off from their front lawn for like 20 minutes........ I was a clown.

I was at the UM game in '11 and I have never recovered. Like ACamp said, I think that is the exact moment I became a realist/pessimist.

I did not have a violent reaction or anything like that but the two friends I was with and I just walked in absolute silence for about 2 miles to get back to the apartment we were staying at. 2 miles of scUM fans screaming the filthiest stuff at us, throwing up double eagles, etc. It was the ultimate walk of shame.

Fast forward about 4 days and I am sitting alone in my apartment (don't recall what I was doing) and I let out the absolute loudest scream ever and threw a chair clear across the room.

I came close after the Natty down in Miami. We were sitting in parking lot traffic and this Alabama prick decides he is going to stand in front of our car and let out the entire row that was in front of us. I wasn't having any of that about 25 beers deep. I may have killed a man that night if he didn't back down.

I was sitting next to Bert Berry at a NDClub game watch for the UM game. I'll never forget that night.

And we all know she did.

I'm typically fairly calm even during losses. I internalize the frustration and anger. Only a few shouts a game. However, my 5 year old will now happily watch sporting events with me. Problem is he yells more than I do. I'm talking like every single play. Basketball, football, baseball, all of them. You should've seen/heard him the last 3 OKC vs GSW games. It was hilarious and not funny all at the same time. (We were rooting for OKC)

This is def me over the past few years, really since that 2011 game... I yell at big moments and 'get excited' but for the most part I just internalize everything and become an emotional hermit for a few days after a bad loss...

Since the 2011 meltdown, the only other loss that really got me in the gonads was the Clemson game last year. At the title game I was more embarrassed than pissed. The Florida State debacle was more of a catatonic reaction.

I firmly believe Michigan 2011 was the emotional tipping point for most younger ND fans. After that night, nothing in sports has made me angry in that way ever again. Even watching the Stanford game this year I was like "that's how it goes sometimes". It's like that game just took all the anger I would ever be able to muster.

That was a real hard kick to the nuts. In my friend's basement watching his first ever Notre Dame game(he often greets me with a God, Country, Notre Dame now), feeling great....I think my head just dropped when the flag showed up. I prefer to watch games alone so I can respond how I deem necessary...but this time I just couldn't react.

I still don't know how BK didn't have a stroke after the 2011 game. His blood pressure had to be through the roof.

The 2010 MSU game was pretty bad for me but, like most have said, the 2011 UM game was the worst for me. I put all of my ND clothes (which, at the time, was like 75% of my wardrobe) in a trash bag and didn't bring them back out for a few days.

The 2005 USC game is the only game where I actually cried

There was no game where his blood pressure was higher than the USF game where we lost despite out gaining them by over 300 yards... Yes... That is a real stat...

The last game party at my house was the Natty. I won't allow it. The wife can have people over upstairs, but no one is allowed in my basement.

To this day I laugh at people upset that BK yelled at those players. That was an all time underachieving performance.

Many of you are better people than I... I have had numerous invites or opportunities to have game parties over at my house or at some friends place... screw. that.

Most of my friends either don't care about cfb or are ND haters so they would just talk smack all freakin game.. I no mess 'round with that shit... it would get real. lol
