Came in at #178 in the Rivals 250 for 2017 and the #5 TE nationally. Interesting stat, if all holds until this time next year. This will be the first time since 2006 that a team signed 2 top 5 TE's. USC being the last to do so. Thats pretty good company.

Incredible how good things look for the 16 and 17 classes.

Now our highest rated commit, according to 247 Sports.

Moved to #3 TE and #88 in the country.

How bout it? They've dropped Wright 130 places and shaved 2 pts off his rating.

Wright and Hainsey still solidly ahead on the Composite though.

What's the reasoning for Wright dropping that many spots?

Last i heard on this board was mainly because he chose not to attend the "Big Camps". Had prior obligations he decided to attend instead. My guess is the Scouting agencies don't take kindly to that lol

he declined camps to play 7on7 ball in texas with his HS teammates. His rating will go back up after all star game week no doubt

I always forget the time line for those. Can he do that and still early enroll?

#89 Overall

Movement: + 115 spots

Analyst's take: “Kmet was largely absent from the off-season camp and combine scene, but he did work out at Notre Dame's Irish Invasion Camp, which was unusual as most of his fellow Fighting Irish commits just watched from the sideline. That performance showed us Kmet has made strides in both his physique and athleticism. He is uniquely athletic for the position, particularly compared to the other tight ends in this class.” – Rivals.com Midwest Recruiting Analyst Josh Helmholdt

Cole played against my Brother last night. He is pretty massive, room to add weight obviously but not skinny by any means. He was playing receiver and it was his first game this year because of mono. He isn't exceptionally fast but has great hands. He caught 5 balls for 92 yards. He was a factor early but they stopped going to him in the second half which I didn't understand. Overall though excited about this kid.

maybe, with the help of this young man, we might become known as a University that utilizes great tight ends

There are no great tight ends on the roster that are eligible.

This is no longer TE U. That really ended with Kyle Rudolph, the best traditional TE play since was one year of Niklas and if you think 30/450 is great then, he was great. Kelly doesn't use the TE, it is what it is.

I am not sure why overlook Tyler Eifert, but he is looking very good for the Bengals and he came out after Rudolph.

I think there was one more kid, Eifert was his name I believe, that would qualify as a great tight end.

I am not willing to participate in any conversation about what position he actually plays, or played. He is a tight end that can split out. The kid because pretty competent at blocking.

Crusader is trying to say that he wasn't used as a traditional tight end.
