I'm not talking about candidate messaging, I'm talking about the way the Republican nominee will be treated by the media. Even Kasich would be skewered as some kind of 1950s throwback.

An election is an opportunity for a candidate to introduce him/herself to the nation. If the way a candidate chooses to do that is by coming off as a man-spirited, out of touch, nutjob, then nobody should be surprise if the country takes the candidate at his or her word. The media reports what candidates do and say. What he did and said was pretty out of touch. Kasich's record in Ohio would catch up with him in the general election, so even though he's trying to be the GOP grown-up in the race, he has some pretty heavy baggage that might not be so easy to carry through the front door of the White House. The media would be incompetent if they did not talk about that record. Lord knows, they've talked about Hillary's plenty.

If Cruz' father is fair game, then so is William Jefferson "BJ" Clinton.

I think the difference is that Americans view the 1990s as better times these days, and could care less about blowjobgate, whereas they've moved further and further away from social conservatives like Rafael Cruz. So even in that fair game matter Cruz gets obliterated in my opinion.

There's a lot worse than Monica Lewinsky when it comes to how HRC behaved throughout Bill's exploits. There was literally a group called the "bimbo eruption squad' designed to silence sexual assault victims.

Oh there is much worse than Lewinsky. For instance, Bill Clinton is probably a rapist from his time in Arkansas.

I suppose the biggest difference is that one has been in the public eye for 25+ years and is extremely well known, flaws and all, whereas Cruz would have his exposure fresh in time for the campaign.

the fair game matter being Mrs. Clinton's active participation in character assassination of VICTIMS to preserve her husband...thus enabling more of it. THAT held up next to a claim to being a champion of women...is somehow viewed less an issue than social conservatism.

I sure hope not.

Especially considering that social conservatism is only a "negative" if you're already a liberal who won't be voting Republican no matter who the nominee is anyways. The behavior of Bill Clinton is universally repugnant.

Democrats could play this over and over and over and everyone with their head screwed on would reject the Cruz family immediately, he can't disown his own father like he could other evangelical pastors:

Wow. Congrats to anyone that could make it more than a minute into this horse shit. The evolution stuff is mind boggling. Even the Pope has publicly accepted evolution, isn't it time to give it up?

The Catholic Church (not all Catholics) and most mainline Protestant denominations (not all Protestants) don't have the same problem with science that many Evangelicals (not all Evangelicals) do.

Yeah Sanders is pretty much toast after next Tuesday unless he wins Ohio and basically ties Florida and Illinois.

I think it's pretty interesting that of the nine "blue states," Sanders is beating Clinton 5-4, and of the nine "red states," Clinton crushes Sanders 7-2. There goes that damn south again, ruining everything.
Lincoln should have just let them go...

Just finished season 4 of House of Cards, last night.

The way Claire and Frank run the show is really starting to remind me of Billary.

Saw a copy of the New York Times at a coffee shop today.

Lmfao at the NYT.

"Trump is winner of Michigan vote: Sanders is strong"

This headline is absurd. Strong could mean anything. It could mean that he won or it could mean that he lost, but had a "strong" fight.

And they purposefully used an ambiguous, non-attention grabbing word to describe last night.

Any just headline would use words like "major upset, shocking, unprecedented"...

He just had the most unpredictive (based on polling) win in the past 30 years... And they use the word" strong".

That's deliberate, period.

"We need to penalize companies that keep trying to send jobs overseas..." - HRC

Wasn't her husband the one that signed off on NAFTA (and other trade bills)?

I'm lost.

You talk about vetting him but he's not anything close to what you're portraying him as. For example, he's not in the crowd of wanting to ban gay marriage. He views it as a constitutional issue that should be left to the states ... to ban. He's a constitutionalist. Compare to Huckabee and Santorum.
