I don't think Kizer needs to win the title or even a playoff game to cement himself as the starter. He's just come in and been too good and grown too much to not earn the job IMO.

I agree with this... kind of. But resigning Malik to the bench for the rest of his career because he got hurt sounds a little silly. I hate QB controversies but we're definitely headed for one.

He's good...and I'm glad we have him. Need to pump the breaks a bit. It was inevitable that he was going to have a game like this. It's ALL about preparing for Stanford now.

Blows my mind how many want to anoint his as the starter for next year already.

Yeah Malik is clearly as good a QB as him. There should be a competition and I think with the way Kizer has been playing Malik wins.

Through 10 games last season, Golson had already lost 8 fumbles. Kizer hasn't lost one yet. #KnockOnWood

Well, he didn't lose any fumbles but his turnovers sure hurt us last night.

Please no more stats from you!

What can we say about DeShone other than he played damn great this year.

63% completion, 2,884 yards, 21 TD - 10 INT

3.9 ypc, 520 yards, 10 TDs (which is a school record for a QB)

So much room to grow.

Given past QB's we've seen, this was one of the most impressive performances from a kid in his first year of playing time. A team like LSU would kill for a QB with his skillset. Hope he stays hungry and develops into a legendary one.

Let's give some credit to red army general Mr. Sanford as well for his development.

Agree. Damn fine performance this year. I don't want to be BK in the spring next year.

I haven't seen the box score but imo he didn't go out and cement the job last night by any means. Missed too many open throws and while the pressure was strong, he moved himself into trouble in the pocket too many times. He wasn't awful, but wasn't really good either.

I won't be worried a bit if Kizer has to come in and play some next year. Big step fwd for him.

Biggest problem is the footwork, something one of the announcers pointed out. I'm sure it'll be addressed in the offseason by the coaching staff. Don't think he is the runaway winner of the QB battle but he has the most in game experience now. Both certainly can make the throws Tommy could not and are better at ball protection and reading defenses than Everett.

Let's not forget about Wimbush who, according to Kizer, has the strongest arm of all of them. Great options.

He seems to slow on his run reads which takes all the momentum away from the RB. By the time the RB gets to the line the hole is closing.

Kelly said he's going to try and find a way to get both Zaire and Kizer to play next year, and I think that could be a good move. Let Kizer start a drive, let Zaire execute in the redzone where Kizer has struggled. Redshirt Wimbush for next year so he has 2 years to destroy teams, 3 if he wants it.

Well if he can figure out an offensive scheme that does not bog down inside the red zone that would be great. I don't see him running 2 QBs though and I don't see Zaire being ok with that.

I ran into DeShone at the IU-Purdue bball game last night. He was wearing a Hornets jersey.
