I imagine CBK is going to call a couple early bombs to start the game next week with two goals in mind: 1 Get Fuller going, 2 open up the running game.

So basically, Will was under-utilized?

That's my cynical take on that chart.

That's my cynical take on that chart.

To be fair, he dropped at least another 200 yards and probably 2 TDs worth of production. Let's hope he puts in work this offseason and comes back to destroy the receiving records at ND and ultimately move into a bonafide top 3 WR off the board.

When we have a 2nd receiver that can "take the top off" the defense, then Will could possibly get more targets. Teams were able to shade a safety over top of him in at least 3 or 4 of our games. ESB could be that other player and THJr and CJS could give us boosted production from the slot.

I think the thing that helps the offense most is Alize's 2nd year. I think our TE utilization will increase 4-5 fold next year.

Andrew Ivins said fuller significantly leaning toward entering the 2016 NFL Draft.

Just said he's coming back so wouldn't distract the team

Not surprising. That's why they shouldn't even ask these kids until after the season.

Irish Illustrated reported it as Fuller just casually announcing his return in the middle of an interview. I still haven't seen the transcript or interview yet though. I know that Lax blames the reporter for putting Will on the spot.

I was under the impression from the Irish Illustrated guys that he wasn't asked though. They acted like he was asked something about his game and he just volunteered the information that he was staying next year. Then they followed up by saying "you do realize you just said you're staying next year right? You want to say that?" And Fuller said yes.

I guess that's my big issue with the "I didn't want to be a distraction" thing. If he really just offered that information, that story doesn't feel right to me.

Gotcha, didn't realize that's how it went down. Either way, I'm not surprised he's leaning on leaving.

Well at least we don't have to worry all off season about where St. Bown is gonna start.

Good luck Will!

Good luck to him, and it's awesome ND is getting players again that are good enough to leave early like WF wants to. It's a small price to pay for building a competitive program.

Will is far from a complete receiver, I don't see how he goes first round. So many of the drops are just so bad, I'm waiting until Rd 3 if I am an NFL GM. However, the Raiders can usually be counted on to reach for speed. Might be a good compliment for Cooper.

The Colts and Ravens just picked up two guys high in the draft that were very flawed. Unless Will has a poor combine, I think he'll get drafted in the second.

He's a 3rd rd pick at this point I believe. I basically see him as Desean Jackson without the drama.

I as some others, tempered my joy after it was reported he was coming back. If his announcement would come 3-4 weeks after the season ended, I would have been more inclined to believe he would return. One of my all time favorite plays in Irish history will be Will lighting up USC on the first play from scrimmage this year. Has to be up there with Eric Penick's 85yd TD run against USC in 73.

Raiders ain't the Raiders of old (and I think they've drafted better than anybody in the last 2-3 years). It really depends on what the team is looking for, and anybody with a vertical passing phillosophy would be amiss to not consider Will. I could definitely see the Steelers picking him up.

This would be tragic. I prefer to root for ND grads once they're in the NFL. I can't root for Tuitt right now because he dons the black and yellow.

Now we get to worry about Corey Robinson starting instead. Unless they move Hunter to the outside and Sanders gets the slot reps.
