It was such a stupid move on his part to go to Bama in the first place. He's a DT QB who'd most likely be starting at Oregon right now.

Word is he wanted to be at SC but Ricky Town was the center piece to come in after Kessler and maybe Browne if he didn't beat Max out. Add to that, Sam Darnold as the capable back up / project in his class who's a better athlete and a leader(who would be perfect for ND's system by the way) and finally, he had no idea if Costello would pick SC right behind him so he bolted he didn't want to compete.

He chose ND and then Bama to get out of this market where he wasn't getting any respect.

I will admit, one of the few QB's I felt was more overrated than Barnett was Travis Waller. Had he gone to Oregon, he would have been in the catbird's seat for QB. Instead, it opened Oregon up for Waller and possibly saved Nd from taking him instead of Wimbush... if you can you imagine that.

So depending on who gets the SC job and depending if he thinks he can beat out Darnold down the road (which I think he wouldn't), I could see him going to SC, Oregon or even Cal with Goff leaving.

One thing is for sure, Bama was a bad move if he planned on staying but if he puts in a year there and then wants to transfer, it looks good on the resume.
