He is up to 284 lbs, wow
I understand your point, but c'mon. Hindsight is 20/20. You telling me you don't take the 5 star Bryant over the 4 star Clement during their initial recruitment? Even then, ND has to take a swing on some of these guys that aren't sure fire culture fits in order to get that ONE breakthrough stud that can propel you to the next level. Like BK said, we shop down a different aisle. Our aisle just isn't as well stocked as the rest of the country.
There's more intensity in my morning bowl of All-Bran than there is in Ishaq.
6'6" 250 lbs of lollygagging around the field with a 1000 yard stare... I wish the best for him and his future but we're not missing out on anything related to a pass rush.. Sorry.

so he made the 85...but we're just not sure he will actually play at this moment, correct?

KR practiced IW didn't. Read between the lines.

KR qualified to come back... IW has to get a waiver because he didn't complete 18 credit hours, Kelly has said he won't practive til they hear an answer

I also read KVR isn't fully cleared yet but his road is paved and all necessary stuff has been filed with the NCAA. They're just awaiting final approval.Didn't he also say - or maybe it was someone on here - that they may not hear until a day or two before the Texas game?
Gonna be hard for IW to see the field much if he can't practice all camp. Which is unfortunate because we could really use him.

This has me nervous until he is actually cleared. I know he's taken care of what was needed but the NC2A drags their feet often. And our luck we won't have him officially "cleared" in time for Texas...
BS always seems to happen and I can already see the writing on the wall here.
How in the world can he get a waiver after not completing six classes?
His argument is that he couldn't afford to pay for the classes and take them, He got a job and also did some volunteer work.... Once he was allowed back at ND in the summer, he took classes again

One thing I never got about the classes he (and KVR for that matter) were supposed to be taking: What coursework could Ishaq Williams really take back home at Kings County Community College or wherever that is supposed to qualify towards his degree at Notre Dame? Dude's a senior, presumably taking high level coursework towards his major at this point. And it's not like he was just going to breeze into the philosophy department at Columbia.
I made this exact argument in KVR's about even going to UDub, which is a fine university. How does ND take classes from anything other than top tier institutions? I went to Valpo and I wanted to transfer a few education courses from a summer sprint session at Purdue's local extension. The registrar wouldn't except them if they said Purdue - North Central on the transcript, they had to be authentic W. Lafayette courses that were taught on a satellite basis at PNC which meant I had to go to W. Lafayette for testing and field work . Valpo made me do that and ND lets guys go to junior colleges? I still don't think I've ever got the whole story regarding transferring credits to ND.
My freshman and sophomore year roommate took classes back home over the summer at a community college in el paso after his freshman year and, while difficult, it can be done. He had to jump through hoops, especially since one was a required courses, but found administration was much more lenient (i think) about a class to fulfill a free elective. It also varies by department, but can be done.
I can add more detail regarding what hoops are involved and why its more of a case by case basis than you'd imagine, but I'm avoiding it for time.
