Also booted off Texans for smoking weed haha can't forget that.

Right as he was about to get his golden chance to shine too due to both Foster and Tate getting injured. What a STUPID move. I have nothing against weed, but you have to be an absolute idiot to ruin your career, lose a ton of money for your family, and a chance at living out your dreams just to get high.

Come on GB...keep it together.

At some point this year we'll all be damned glad the kid is Irish.

I'm trying to keep it together man. Just need to keep lighting it up and I'll be alright. Thanks for your concern but I'll always be Irish.

Why is missing 4 games a big deal to anyone? I just don't understand the hubbub. He's going to miss one meaningful game.

ESPN Preseason FPI:
Texas - #27
Virginia - #26
Georgia Tech - #23

Seems like 3 big ones to start.

/Mass is #98
/Notre Dame is #7

Stupid. Much of the team smokes like a chimney and he is the one that gets in trouble at one of our least experienced position groups.

Easy enough to tell them apart,... one was founded by Thomas Jefferson, the other was founded by Frank Beamer.....

The Jefferson/Beamer remark was clever, but it's exactly what my brother and his team-mates liked about VT --- beating up on those "sophisticated" Ivy League wannabees. Lunch bucket engineers vs fancy-suited "cavaliers".

I don't doubt it... reminds me of Inter Milan vs. AC Milan for those who follow soccer... that rivalry is very much like that as well... (second time that's been brought up today).

My solution:

Have the Catholic Church buy 1500 acres around Golden, CO and lets see just how liberal the Congregation of the Holy Cross truly is.

Anyone think that BK might have anticipated this possibly happening? With CJ spending all spring at running back, I'm wondering if GB got his second strike shortly before and so BK was using spring as a way for CJ to get some reps should GB get his 3rd strike.

Does feel like the off-season.

I think it's a big deal. i love how this cr@p about him being a problem child shows up now-wish I would have known that sooner, if true. I have always been high (no pun intended) on GB-just waiting for him to develop to that elite status. Always assumed he would have a 5th after TF went to the league. Now, not so sure. I do believe BK knew this in the Spring-his effusive praise of Prosise certainly makes it seem like he's a fortune teller.

Sigh....

I think it was already posted that it did have something to do with it.

The things I posted earlier today have all been posted on this thread in the past. Nothing new here. People knew he was a malcontent when he didn't get touches, people knew he was all set to transfer and wasn't shy about telling people, and now people know about his pot habit. Like I said earlier, he's not a bad guy but more of someone who is high maintenance IMHO.

I hear what you are saying. I think he is just immature, but is starting to grow up, it takes some of us longer than others. I don't think he is going to transfer and he knows what ND can do for him in life. He was a big part in convincing Dexter Williams to come to Notre Dame, because it would turn him into a man. This is just a bump in the road for him to reach is goals in life.

Sucks. But if Bryant was really a "problem child" he would have moved along by now. At this point if he suits up for the Clemson game he's in for the duration. And by all accounts he's been a good ambassador for the school to other Florida recruits.
Bryant may be high maintenance, but the kid gets Notre Dame. He just needs to fully get what it takes to make it there.

I can see why a fan of another team would think this is a bigger issue than what us Irish fans are thinking.

But Bryant, at the most, would be taking about 5 carries away from Folston per game. Folston has turned into a work horse of a running back and would probably be getting 15-20 carries a game anyway. If I had to guess, Bryant's carries will just be additional carries to Prosise or will be an opportunity for Dexter to show people what he's got.

Fantastic breakdown. You took the past 8 pages of posts and regurgitated it as your own. Nice work silly bird!!!

Seems like ND always has that 1 guy with tremendous up that just never gets off the mark- I don't want to name former players as we all hope they have good lives after ND ( with that degree ) but man o man this guy should be a bigger contributor than he has been. He'll try the NFL next year and only do very little in the last 8 games. I'm in a stupor over Golson and Bryant both my favorites on this present team. This years team has my curiosity peaked its either going to be very very good or very very bad-I see no in between.

We have a lot of guys that need playing time this year, and Folston and Procise should be more than up to the task for four games, assuming no major injuries. I predict Prosise getting virtually no reps at slot until GB is back, and then going back to splitting slot duties with Amir when GB's back.

Remember, we have a stable of WR's and TE's that can be more utilized with Prosise (who I don't see coming off the field much this year) not being tasked with slot duties. And it's not like a 4 game suspension is a death sentence. I also don't see GB transferring or declaring at the end of this year when he's got a very good chance of being #1 on the depth chart next year.

Lynch transferred. Which was maybe addition by subtraction but his potential was undeniably through the roof.

What Aaron Lynch would've become if he would've stayed we will never know.

Aaron Lynch was a beast and his potential was beyond the roof.

One guy at the Blue & Gold game made me forget about Lynch's 1 year: Jerry Tillery.

I think what's important here is how does Greg bounce back from this? If Notre Dame is making him a better man, then be that better man.

If the kid is vocal about not getting enough touches or playing time, then it's about time the kid starts to show his shit.

Show us your potential Greg!
