According to the press release, he still remains on scholarship and will still be able to practice with the team. Just won't be on the 105-man roster.

I'd say the odds are greater that he transfers after this semester than they are that he stays put.

Indeed... but if it doesn't shake out right, this loss is catastrophic. As is, Folston + Prosise can handle 30 touches a game easily between them with another back (Carlisle, Hunter, Williams, or Adams) getting a little bit of run.

Please God, no. We have a monster OL, we have Folston, Prosise, Dex, Adams. If we can't keep two of those healthy through the season, then we can always bring Carlisle back behind the QB.

Let's allow some of our players to stick at their "best" position. For Sanders, most believe that is slot/return man.

If this is all (and a few of you know what I'm talking about), then this is a big 'meh' for me. He was already gone for a third of the season anyway, and it's not like freshman RB's can't make inroads on good teams (happens all over the country, why not ND for once?), so this doesn't really phase me right now.

Plus, if this is the only guy that we lose from now until the season, I will be a happy, happy man. (Insert prayer gif)

I just want this kid to get it together. Can't stay off the weed and clearly the teacher hates football but I respect ND for it. It's not a major loss losing your 3rd string back. Sure he can wow you with a run once in a while but it's safe to say he's becoming a bust like all Florida guys said he was. I think Dexter Williams is gonna take off but I'm disappointed for Greg, hope he gets it together and comes back strong.

The situation as a whole just really sucks. Here's a kid who is trying to do better for himself by going to Notre Dame, and while what happened to him at ND is certainly his fault, I also think has to do a lot with his time in Florida.

Hopefully for his sake he can figure it out, whether its at ND or elsewhere.
