“I definitely do want to decide before the season. I’m still pretty open, I’ve kinda narrowed it down a little in my mind,” he said. “There’s kind of a bunch of schools that I know I like, I’m just kind of keeping those to myself, though.”

“Coach Franklin wants me to be a guy that builds up the program,” he said. He said that they’re going to be back on top again soon. They definitely think that I could be a big part of their offense. When they came to watch me run routes this spring they said that I do a lot of the things that they do in their offense.”

ND--“I’m still in contact with them a lot too,” he said of the Irish. “We’ve been up there twice, we may try to get out there another time this summer. You know they have the tradition of the tight end position, a great education and the combination of football and academics that you look for.”

He hasn't visited Penn State since last season I believe. Plus it's head to head with PSU do we ever lose those?

i think he's penn st.

hasn't been much on him lately, which leads me to believe that we're not pushing too hard.

Sucks he went to SCum but always refreshing when the "experts" don't have a clue and you actually get surprised.

Will he pull a Daelin Hayes and accompany this with a surprise move to SoCal in a week?

Not overly upset about this one, but gotta say this is the first cycle in the BK era where I really have concerns about the class we are bringing in. Knowing it would be smaller is one thing, but filling it with projects and mid tier caliber kids puts a lot of pressure on the staff to really kill it in '17. To consistently compete at the level we want to see, 1 down year hurts, 2 in a row sets you back. Hopefully the team puts up a 10-11 win season and we finish strong.

Can't say I blame him. They are thin at TE and he will most likely get playing time as a true freshman.

You'd have to be a certified alpha dog to come in as a TE during the '16 cycle between a guy you KNOW you will be behind until he goes Sundays and with the #1 '17 TE leaning ND and coming for your spot as #2 behind AJ.

I say skip '16 unless maybe Luke Farrell decided he had to come to South Bend and look to '17 to sign #1 Brock Wright and #3 Grant Carrigan from Bishop Gorman. At only 16, 6-7, 240 he's gonna be a monster. Good basketball player it sounds like too. Gotta like that as far as footwork and the known correlation between hoops and the position... ie the 3G's - Gonzales, Gates, Graham.

Grant Carrigan went to #2 Composite while I was typing that response. Talk about being set up for a #1-#2 haul at TE. Very interesting.

Good luck to Cary in LA and as they say out here.... Break a leg! No seriously, break a leg.

I kid, I kid...

Is Carrigan interested in ND?

Is Carrigan interested in ND?

He goes to Fertitta Prep... You know he's in contact at least.

I'll bet everything I own and could borrow that ND gets at least one of them next year.

They weren't paying attention then. He LOVED his visit to USC a few weeks ago, on his own dime, and pledged to come back shortly with his mom. That told me everything (provided he actually made the visit).

Since he never talks to the media, but actually raved about his USC visit, it was a clear sign that USC was in the driver's seat.

Still, I didn't see it coming this quickly. I'm surprised at the timing...

Could it be that he was considering what it would be like playing behind Alize for three years. I know that that doesn't sound good but i've thought we were going to struggle recruiting TE this go-around because of Alize.

Aliz'e's on the 3 for 40 plan? I bet you're right. Something tells me he'll never need the paper on the wall instead just friends to drink with on fall Saturdays once he's done with Sundays.
