Awesome! I know he had a couple bad drops but I still love what Corey brings to the team both on and off the field!

Yeah, I think he'll do okay in life. Extremely impressive young man with an extremely impressive father/family.

I am hoping early reports of the players positive results in the weight room include Corey. He gets stronger and heavier, and his game can't help but improve. Seems to me if Corey develops the brollic to defeat the defender on the line of scrimmage, with both his leaping and in stride catching ability, he really opens up the options for yards after the catch. Here's to hoping!

I posted it in the draft thread, but I think this is a result of people jumping on a draft scout's bandwagon and copying his work.

He mentioned 4 or 5 ND players that he was watching for next year, and I think mistakenly referred to Corey Robinson, when he actually meant Will Fuller.

Several mock drafts have come out since then. I think one mock used the scout's mistaken praise for Robinson and threw him in there, and then several other mock's copied their work and ran with it.

At least, that seems the most logical explanation.

And that should tell you how much stock to put in these lists

I saw it in a reply to one of his tweets. I think this is where he mistakes Robinson for Fuller, and then everyone runs with it:

2016 NFL Mock Draft: Matt Miller's Early 1st-Round Predictions | Bleacher Report

The Pick: Wide Receiver Corey Robinson, Notre Dame

You may know Corey Robinson's dad. He went by The Admiral and dominated the NBA as the center for the San Antonio Spurs. But David Robinson's son is making his own name as a huge threat at wide receiver for Notre Dame.

At 6'4 ½" and 215 pounds, the younger Robinson has some of his dad's length, and his agility shows up on the field. He's a big threat and is able to work the sidelines as well as get down the field to threaten defenses over the top. Considering the Seahawks love big receivers that can get downfield, Robinson is a match made in heaven.

I think it's legit, no mistake.

Also, Robinson 100% needs 4 years in college.

Wow. If that's legit, I'm not sure how serious I could take it.

No doubt we all know Corey has the ability to be a freak of nature getting down the field and catching the ball... but we haven't seen it yet.

He's putting a lot of faith into a junior-year developmental burst.

Agreed. I mean he isn't even officially a starter for us. He's very solid, but he needs to pack on about 10 more pounds and become more physical blocking. He also looks like he runs in the 4.6s whenever he has the ball in his hands. I think he could go end of the the 1st round after his senior year if all goes well, but he is 100% a guy that needs the full 4 years in college. His ball skills are crazy, but I have no idea if he is a good route-runner or not considering he seems to run the same 3-4 routes all the time.

I like Corey as much as any ND player over the years. He's a thoughtful, well-rounded young man with amazing tracking ability but he had too many drops last year to be above the 4th round.

I see that 30ish yard back shoulder throw against LSU over and over in my head. It was the perfect play and he executed it perfectly except he dropped the ball. Those plays must always be made to be a 1st round WR especially one with 4.5+ speed.

I hope we see Corey iron out the kinks because there are enough dominant players at all other positions to keep him from routinely being double teamed. Most corners and safeties will be unable to out jump him.

Didn't Corey play with a broken hand last year?

Looks like it was a broken thumb, my bad.

I don't recall him having problems with drops his freshman year. Barring injuries, I see his hands returning to normal. Regardless of how well he does, I imagine his dad might tell him to stay for his degree, instead of declaring early.

BK ALWAYS talks about his catching radius and hands HOWEVER he hasn't displayed that on a consistent basis...yes he had a broken thumb but had an EXTREMELY costly drop/turned int which sealed the deal against ASU...

Gotta be the first player ever put in a mock draft 1st round with less than 50 career receptions without a suspension or long-term injuries involved.

Don't forget, Corey had a great game against FSU which probably caught many scouts' eyes. But yeah, he doesn't belong in that mix.

#1 in 2017...because he would potentially have another year.

Ahh.. Thanks. I thought what kind of credibility can be placed on this site.

Seeing Stanley mentioned as a possible No. 1 overall is crazy. Amazing what staying 1 year can do for you.

I just looked and it had Ronnie Stanley #1 OT.

I think you were looking at '17, see above.

Now that we have that cleared up.

Corey had this spring to work on getting healthy. I hope he has a little luck over the summer.

And above all has a dominant season next year.

Not only could it not happen to a nicer guy, just think of how unstoppable the offense would be if Corey hit his stride, with CBreezy, Will Fuller, and guys like TRII and CJ involved.

Remember when ND didn't have a single receiver that could take off the top?

I still don't understand the amount of speculation that has to be performed in order to suggest corey is capable of going 23rd overall.

But, I suppose if that comes anywhere near to fruition, that would suggest to me that we had an awesome year, so I guess I'd take that.

But no way do I see corey leaving ND without a degree. Anyone know what his expected graduation date is? I know he was an ee, so maybe he'd be able to get his degree next summer?

Would the smart man take his first round contract or get his degree? I could argue from either side so I don't know that we can claim he's a lock to come back should he receive the theoretical 1st round grade.

When your dad is David Robinson, the side of leaving early for the money is definitely not as enticing as it would be for most student athletes.

Troy Niklas' dad is loaded and he still pushed for his son to go pro early and work towards that 2nd NFL contract..

I said "not as enticing". I purposely left room for exceptions, which I'm sure there are plenty of.

I agree. If your family is scraping by, and you have the chance to put some food on the table and fix the roof, you have a totally independent--and very understandable--motivation.
