I've never shied away from my own issues on this site. Admitted them many times. I can comment on Koon just fine with a completely clear conscience. You've had your own issues but I don't bring them up every time you comment on something.

And I guarantee you that you can ask the mods who creates more problems for the site, Koon or myself, and they'll say him. Not even close. I know this for a fact. I'm pretty much a mouse on this site nowadays anyway.

But hey, nice efort. (<<<------- There, I gave you something to write about, so you can feel like you contribute to the site. )

Let's start on poll on who's post are more painful to read between LA and koon.

Koon's are more painful if we're comparing the two. LA brings useful information to the site, behind the scenes stuff and practice observations. Koon has opinions, which he's more than entitled to, but there's less substance and more spam behind them.

Quality over quantity here.

As informative as LA's posts are.....and they are, however, you just don't really have a great post until you start discussing another man's abs.......not even close, really

A little nugget of info from a MMQB article today:

1. I think the Giants are fooling themselves if they think the pectoral muscle injury suffered by left tackle Will Beatty, which reportedly could keep him out until at least October, won’t have huge ramifications. Beatty had developed himself into a very capable left tackle, and now the Giants are left with either Justin Pugh (who underwhelmed so much at right tackle he had been penciled in at guard ) or Ereck Flowers, the ninth overall pick out of Miami earlier this month. I recently spent the weekend at the Coaches of Offensive Line (COOL) Clinic in Cincinnati, and the reviews on Flowers were not good. “Some of the worst technique I’ve ever seen in a player drafted that high,” said one veteran NFL line coach. “He played for one of the best coaches, Art Kehoe, and his technique was terrible,” said another coach. “That tells me he doesn’t take coaching well. That’s a big problem because all of the recent tackles have struggled making the transition. It now takes them until Year 3. You can thank the spread and the [collective bargaining agreement] for that.”

I think points like that reinforce just how valuable HH is from a recruiting standpoint. He is going to get kids ready for the NFL.

2. I think the biggest complaint NFL line coaches at the summit had was how they can’t get even talk to their players, especially those that just finished their rookie season, until April under the CBA. They’re not even asking to hit, they just want to teach their guys and watch film. Take the case of Greg Robinson, the No. 2 pick in the 2014 draft by the Rams, who struggled as a rookie and may need more time to be able to play left tackle. “They had four run plays (at Auburn) and one protection: slide left, slide right. He didn’t have a snap count,” says Rams line coach Paul Boudreau, who has coached in the NFL since 1987 with eight different teams. “Now, I coached Willie Roaf when Willie was a rookie. Willie’s in the Hall of Fame. And I can tell you from a coach who coached Willie and now coaches Greg Robinson: Greg Robinson as a rookie has more talent and is a better player than Willie. Willie had a great coach at Louisiana Tech and Willie was ahead of the curve because of the techniques he was taught, just like how we talk about preferring the Wisconsin, Iowa, Stanford and Notre Dame guys.

Nice kudos there from Rams OL coach

Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football, Basketball, and Recruiting Front Page

At every stop, every NFL offensive line coach has asked Cave about Harry Hiestand, who coached five years with the Chicago Bears (2005-09), which included a Super Bowl appearance.
“I’ve even had coaches ask me how we did things at Notre Dame,” Cave said. “He’s a great guy to learn from. I’m extremely happy that I had him for a year. I’ve got nothing but respect for the guy.”

This is really random but something I wanted to share because no one else in my life would appreciate this story as much as my IE brethren...

Last night I was talking to the dad of a kid I coached. The kid is really intelligent with division 1 talent/interest, but he has a bad attitude. He has a tough home life as his parents are divorced and mom, with whom he lives, let's him do whatever he wants. Long story short, the dad asked me for help so I invited the kid to breakfast this morning.

I was laying in bed last night thinking about what I was going to say. I've had countless talks with him but, like most teenagers, you can't really tell him anything he doesn't already know. I was trying to come up with a different approach but fell asleep not knowing what I was going to say, UNTIL, none other than Harry Heistand visited me in my dream and laid it all out for me. Harry made perfect sense. I woke up immediately and was like Holy Sh!t, Harry is right.

Anyway, Harry's advice helped me frame my conversation with the kid this morning. I don't have much confidence that it will change this kid's behavior, but I thought it was awesome that Coach H was the one that delivered the message to me in my dream. I thought some of you might appreciate that. The others probably think I'm nuts but I wanted to share nonetheless.

Other conclusions I came to when I woke up:

1. The season needs to start ASAP
2. I spend too much time on IE
3. Harry needs a statue

Saint Harold of Malvern is appearing to the faithful while still alive? The Vatican ought to fast track his canonization immediately.

I'll attest to the first miracle: I watched an entire ND football game without watching the ball offensively, "just" Harry's OLine.

Sorry, didn't mean to leave you guys hanging. It wasn't real groundbreaking stuff, just the right message at the right time. He talked about the time being now. Setting goals and not letting anything get in the way. Ignoring the noise and not letting anyone outwork you. He was real intense talking to me, but it was as if I was the kid, not the one delivering the message. Meaning, he didn't say "hey coach, this is what you should say". It was more like "Listen kid..."

The good news is I just got a text from the kid asking for a ride to a workout with his teammates. He lives 15 minutes away and before today would've just not gone and used no ride as an excuse, so maybe the talk worked. It did for today at least.

Harry has the bilocation gift. Things are starting to make a lot of sense, hehe.

Happens to me regularly. Not with Harry though. My daimones are less celebrity than representations. Good luck with that.

Let me know everything he says. I have come up with some of my best solutions to life situations when sleeping. Makes sense that many cultures believe man was put on this earth not to be awake, but to dream, and he needed waking time to nourish the dream self!
