Yoon turned heads in the Under Armor All Star game hitting all three of his field goals including a 32 harder and an Under Armor record 47 harder, as well as 4 extra points. He says he needs to brush up on his kickoffs a little bit when he gets completely healthy. He feels he is about 90% back from a back injury that cost him most of his senior season. "I have to stay humble," Yoon said. "I'm going to Notre Dame, and I want to do my best for them." Excited to see him develop.

kid was impressive in UA game. His biggest test will be handling the responsibility of being a starter @ ND as a freshman. Kid has all the tools physically

I saw a few people point out, in disappointment, that we don't have any 5 stars in this class. You're wrong. Justin Yoon is a 5 stars, there is no doubt in my mind. He has the potential to be a lethal weapon in the Blue and Gold.

I saw this kid in the all star games in early January. He doesn't screw around. With an unknown snapper and holder, he was booting with authority, high, far and pretty much down the middle. I know placekicking is a confidence-reliant job, and it's easy for these guys to get off kilter, but I will be very surprised if this kid isn't really really good. (Assuming we can work on the snaps and, esp., the holder.) Assuming the offense can be high powered enough to give him the opportunities, it won't surprise me if this kid is an All American. (Has a kicker ever left college early for the pros?)

it's awesome that we have an Asian football player who is going to be really important to our team. It's both funny and cool.

I don't recall Kelly openly calling a kid a starter during NSD press conferences before.

Different position than your average but still pretty cool to hear.

“Field goals are looking pretty solid right now,” explained Yoon. “The other day, I kicked a 59-yard field goal, so that was pretty good. My kickoffs I am averaging around the high 60s (yards). I am getting back into it. I have to get my legs a little live quicker. Once that happens, I think everything will flow and I will be able to kick to my potential.

“Before I got hurt, my kickoffs were averaging around 74 yards and my best ball was around 80 yards. Potentially, I can hit those again, but I just have to find my tone again. I’ll find it though.”
