Apparently might be a dreaded LisFranc injury which can in some cases be as bad as it gets in terms of football injuries.

In some cases. Depending on how bad. Or he's back for spring ball. Either way, if it's a Lisfranc and not just a sprain he's probably done for the season.

If it's a Lisfranc fracture he could be out up to 12 weeks.

return2glory it is a high energy impact injury to the mid foot. Wiki has some info on it. I am not a doctor but severe cases require open reduction and screws and may require no weight bearing for at least 6 weeks. I feel bad for Jones if he went out and played and made it worse.

It can also be a career ender.

Would literally be one of the worst decisions I've ever seen made. He doesn't even have a full season as a starter under his belt, and play rather inconsistently this year. Probably won't get drafted, at best 5th roundish.

Hope he's kidding.

Noooooooooo!!!

Hoping this is fake. He wouldn't have been able to get a draft grade yet, he's injured, and he wasn't exactly all-world this year. Still, it would be our luck to see him go early.

He got the worst advice ever if he actually declared for the draft as a RS sophomore who hasn't played a full season as a college starter and is coming off of major injury. No one will touch him.

Well, this is Jay Hayes putting the information out there...but yeah, I hope he's kidding. Would be a terrible decision for Jones, he can certainly improve his draft grade with at least one more year.

If that tweet is true either Jarron Jones asked Jay Hayes to break the story or Jay Hays just f'ed up.

Neither seems likely to me...

Lol @ us.

Maybe he doesn't like the "college" part of college football?

Well, he should play better then if he wants to get out of college. Even without the injury, he would have been a 4th rounder at absolute best IMO. Time for him to suck it up for 2 semesters and earn a high draft grade next year.

I think it's a joke. Hayes has always been a prankster and Jarron just tweeted three days ago "you guys forget we have EVERYBODY coming back next year!!!" Don't think he would tweet that if he was leaving.

I recall something about the NFL Draft Advisory Board issuing only four different grades now: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or Other.

There's simply no way that Jones could garner a top-3 grade after this season. And as others have said, it'd be moronic to declare with a mid-to-late-round grade (and even that might be a stretch) when he hasn't graduated yet.

Hayes likes to troll people. Writing this off as a joke.

Beyond that...

Option A: late draft pick or undrafted, no degree, no help to rehab from potentially career altering/ending injury.

Option B: potential to improve (and in no way hurt) draft stock, degree, rehab over 1-2 years to overcome injury and get back to peak playing condition.

And he chose Option A? Moronic, if true.

Just saw a tweet by ISD doubting the veracity of Hayes' tweet

Jay Hayes is a funny guy. We'd be surprised if his tweet about Jarron Jones going to the NFL was true...So would those close to Jones BTW.
— Irish Sports Daily (@ISDUpdate) December 2, 2014
