I was under the impression that Fuller ' s straight-line speed was his biggest trait, and I don't think slot takes advantage of that outside of specific packages.

Besides, Tory Hunter Jr, CJ Sander, etc will make life tough there too.

Good point, I completely blanked on THJ...

Pretty sure the staff loved his route running and hands as a recruit. I could be mistaken though. I recall comparisons to TJ, only faster. I think this kid is going to be big for ND in the coming years (including this year).

During spring game, they said Fuller is the fastest player on the team. He's going to make some plays this year.

I'd love to see race between Fuller and Brown. it's hard for me to believe Fuller could beat Brown, who was a nationally ranked triple jump competitor (if I remember correctly). Athleticism in that event translates very well to football and straight line speed.

I don't recall hearing anything about Fuller and track but he was just a three star so it's possible I didn't play close enough attention to his whole recruitment.

Either way, good problem to have.

Thanks, reps, for the good get!

“Sometimes you see players, regardless of whether it’s the high school level, you know they have it,” said McCourt. “They have the ability to succeed at the next level and succeed rather early. The thing with Will is he’s a great kid, he’s a hard worker. On the field, he just has those natural instincts and tools that you can’t teach.

This from the article shows what I think the ND staff is really good at identifying. It is a talent plus right attitude, kind of thing. Also, the staff is really great at finding the high school coaches that attract said players and foster it. And the staff is great at building relationships with those coaches and programs!

Fuller is just fine. Kelly mentioned him first when asked about who stood out on Offense vs Michigan. Some of the missed-catches were Everett's freight train blasters. Everett will get more touch as the season goes on with those shorter passes and Will will get more used to the firehose. This is nearly the last thing that I'm worried about.

If he can correct the drop problems, he'll be a rich man's TJ Jones. In that case, we'd have a hell of a football player on our hands.

I agree. I always though he might be a run and catch kind of WR but he appears to be a possession WR.

I criticize him for his drops but at the same time I'm damn excited he's only a soph...We still need more Corey Robinson in this offense as well!

He's been amazing this year. The separation he got on his long TD pass was unfair.

Hi route running has been great... He gets CB to bite on his double move and gets open... If he can do this against Stanford and FSU corners, we will have a shot to really move the ball

Looks like Keith Arnold was onto something about Will.

Estimated an 1,000 yard season for the young man. On pace for 1,118 yards (including a bowl game).

He's the biggest surprise of the year so far, IMO. The fact that he's only a sophomore has me really excited. I'd say he's better as a sophomore than TJ Jones his sophomore year

FYI, you should use 'a' instead of 'an'. I know Canadians think everything starts with a vowel, but 'thousand' does not.

Just busting your chops :).

See, I was debating this to myself in my head. "A" or "an"… I picked an. Wrong choice.

I've been out of school for too long.

There was a pretty significant Brown vs Fuller discussion as the offseason came to a close. I don't want to name names..

<----------

..but some people on here were expecting big things from Fuller.

I can't say I was an outward Fuller advocate but I seriously questioned where all the Brown love was coming from. Dude has done relatively very little in game.

Got you both beat. Said Fuller was a ballar and Brown just a track guy playing football.

Looks like this guy was on to him (kind of) and CRob and thankfully for the SU game plan, so was Coach.
