Seriously what an asshat. I too think he's was a bit overhyped as a prospect. Talented but I'll wait until he's proven himself before I crown him the next big thing. He clearly hasn't waited to declare himself that.

He has one more year he'd have to sit either way wouldn't he?

NFL rule that you need at least 3 years out of high school correct?

Like virtually everything that we read about...nothing will come of this IMO.

It's only a violation IF he knew knew about it. The "Cam" rule. Either way, I am sure there are plenty that will try to cash in on his success, either now or the future.

My advice to LF7 is to "pull" a hamstring in fall practice next season and take plenty of time to recover. Any return date should be mid November at the earliest.

Fournette Fights Offensive Lineman

The official statement is that they were "slap" boxing but it sure looked like more than that too me.

P.S. Sorry wasn't able to embed video from phone.

To me, that looks a lot like slap boxing. Ive been around teenagers enough to recognize it. That's certainly the most violent I've seen it but they're also Division 1 athletes.

I think if it's was a true fight, teammates would have been trying to break it up

Definitely slap boxing, but next time just wrestle. No need to fill the cannons with fodder.

This isn't a real story. Back in the day, sometimes still with the right amount of booze, we would go at it like this. Just dudes being dudes.

Anyone who doesn't think this is just joking around has never been a varsity athlete, or gone to high school for that matter.

Clearly slap boxing. I mean, when you throw punches, you usually don't throw that many hooks open handed. lol

Doesn't even resemble a real right.

Agreed with all of the above. If it were a real fight, it looks like the linemen would've put Fournette to sleep early, at least if he caught his chin on some of those early throws.

If Fournette weathered the early storm, he might've dropped the linemen at the end.

o rly?

I've convinced myself at this point that it was "high school" level shenanigans. I don't think it was an actual street fight.

That said, you think this is a typical varsity athlete thing? My guess is there were some bruised egos compensating where you went to school. I'm sure this occurred, but the "prom king" sparring with with the o-line where someone could record for the nation to see?

Your school didn't have much common sense either then.

EDIT: Fournette would have killed that guy, or ran away - there was no lineman winning that fight based on the film.

Went to one of the best high schools in the nation but okay. Hockey players, football players whatever joke fight on occasion. It happens.

I didn't watch the video, but it's clear it was a major fight and that innocent women and children could have been seriously hurt...

I think this typical of a bunch dudes standing around waiting for something (like practice) to start and they got nothing to do in the meantime. Actually, I 'll take it one step farther, this can be a form of team-bonding (messing around with teammates while the coaches aren't around). You can hear ppl talking and laughing on the video...

Can't believe he's gonna pass up the degree

Majoring in interdisciplinary studies... Also says majoring in Human Science & Education in his bio.

College of Humanities & Social Sciences - Louisiana State University - Acalog ACMS™

As a human being and as a citizen, the student will find this education of lasting significance. As a member of a profession, each student will find desirable backgrounds for scholarship and teaching in all fields of knowledge and for law and medicine, which stress, increasingly, the value of broad intellectual training.

The lasting significance of the education he's already received is worth more than some degree, Lion.
