This game will kill Golson's numbers. I bet we run until they stop us, which they won't. Might have three RBs with 100 yards this week. Golson sits most of the second half and Zaire finally gets to sling the rock a little bit. Boys roll as depth keeps piling on late points but gives up one or two easy scores late. As long as we aren't threatened, this will be plain vanilla on both sides of the ball.

38-13 Irish

Clearly, Purdue has been playing possum the last season and a half, all for this game… it’ll be a Battle of Endor sized trap…

On the first play of the game, Golson scrambles to the sideline and is drilled out of bounds, crashing right into Malik Zaire who tears his ACL. DeShone Kizer successfully dodges, but lands awkwardly and rolls an ankle. Golson suffers a concussion on the collision and comes out. In comes Montgomery VanGorder who is promptly sacked and injured on his first career play. Enter Charlie Fiessinger.

Purdue takes a 10-7 lead with ND's only TD coming on a punt return TD by Riggs. With only a minute to play, Fiessinger hooks up with Fuller on a short throw and Fuller races 75 yards to the endzone Arnaz Battle-style for the 14-10 win.

Have you ever watched Notre Dame football and the bizarre-ass-shit that happens to us. How dare you put something like this out into the universe!?

Because he has a reputation to fulfill as the site jinx. So, the opposite of what he says happens, regularly. He just blessed the team with good health for the season. That is the way it works with the Rid-man! He puts it out for the universe, and the universe speaks back with a major reject!

I think Prosise is one dropped pass away from never touching the field. Kelly was pissed on Saturday after Prosise dropped what would've been a 15+ yard completion.

I saw that too.
If Hunter can get healthy, that might give Kelly the opportunity to drop CJ below him in the depth chart.
One thing I do know is that number 3 is going to start for the foreseeable future in the slot.

Yeah, we'll probably give up some points when our true freshmen see the field. Wait...

Unfortunately, I think he might get the 2013 Carlisle treatment, which would be really sad because I think CJ is a superb athlete. I wonder if they could get him the ball on some screens where he is not trying to catch the football in full stride. Maybe reverses or even use him as a GA3 type big back. The guy is a phenomenal athlete though and would like to see him get a few touches a game.

ND running game could have a field day in this one. Would love to see like 200+ yds rushing.

Okay, now that the game is this week, everyone wants to go to the Shamrock Series game. I need to find 8-9 tickets. They don't have to be together. If you have some, PM me.

Thanks

Purdue's passing attempts - yards?

You can't think they will score 13?

This is the game last year that sparked the 'We are slow, Longo must go?' thread. Purdue will play us tough, but I think 10 of the points come against our 2nd team.

I think ND puts Purdue over it collective knee and spanks their bare behind -- ND 49, Purdue 6.

As of Sunday night the game hadn't sold out... at leat Ticketmaster was listing seats.

They weren't very good (of course) but it might be an option if you just want to get in the door.

PurDON'T has to be the dumbest insult ever conceived, right up there with Notre Lame. Yet, for some reason, I can't stop saying it this week.

PurDouchebags? My buddy who went to ND ('06 alum) would wear a homemade t shirt with that on it.

Here is where the leadership comes in. The Irish should beat Purdue handily. In fact, they should dominate every aspect of the game. The question is whether they come in with a big letdown as mentioned by previous posters. Can't do that and keep the momentum moving forward. Dominate the opponent early, work on some issues that needs improving, and get the starters out as soon as possible.

To me the final score is less important than whether the Irish dominates early on and then calls the dogs off. I am expecting the Irish to take care of business quickly and often. It doesn't mean I want to see a 24-13 type game. I want to see a 35-0 first half and then waltz on to the finish. Irish 42-14.

My wish for this game is that our "garbage time" lead is so big that we can open up the playbook for Malik. He's gotten minutes in the last two games but hasn't had the opportunity to sling the rock at all.
