He knows the HC better than anyone on the roster -- So he's got that going for him

Are we still debating who was the better QB between Hendrix and Rees? C'mon, 2013 should have ended this. Other than a long bomb against an awful Air Force secondary, Hendrix did not look good at all when he came in for Tommy last year. Last year was supposed to be the year the light came on for Andrew, but it didn't. He seldom made the right reads on the option plays he ran, and his passing was atrocious. It's amazing he didn't lose the USC game for us, our defense really bailed him out. If Hendrix started last season, there is NO way we make a bowl game. Theres a reason he never beat Tommy out for the job...Tommy was the lesser of two evils.

Agree 100%. Not even close IMO. Hendrix seems like a great person but he looked lost on the field when he got in. For all the bad Rees got, he was still a pretty decent QB and gave ND the best chance to win last season.

I'll be tuning in Sept 20 when they play Cincinnati (our off week). Two birds, one stone.

Hendrix never looked good, but he did OK before the USC game last year. Nothing I saw of him before that game suggested he would do that.

Looked good in the Stanford game. I hope he routes the Skunkbears.

He's legitimately hard to tackle, once he gets in a rhythm. And you can tell his instincts tell him to take off on every down. I like him much more as an option QB, than a spread QB. Maybe he would have had a good career at Navy?

That was the strangest thing. He actually played really solid against Stanford in relief as a soph. Then as a senior he comes in against USC and looks like a deer in the headlights. For the life of me I cannot figure out exactly what stopped his progression as a player.

Looks more like he just got tan, oiled up, and flexed in the 2nd pic than anything, but either way, dude is ripped.

I'm not even sure he would be a good option QB. Watching him run a read option against Temple late last year, as well as against Oklahoma and USC, it wasn't good. Often times he made the wrong read and ended up getting nothing on the play. Other than that big pass against a pretty weak Air Force secondary, Andrew struggled in his opportunities last year.

It's not entirely his fault. We were trying to prepare two very different QBs as our 1st and 2nd string, two entirely different skill sets. That's one thing Kelly mentioned in his presser yesterday...it was so nice having two very similar QBs to work with.
