Also said he is looking for a place with a city with a lot of other things going on where he can enjoy himself away from football.

ND lock. South Bend brings all the kids to the yard.

What is South Bend's deal? Why can't it be an Ann Arbor?

You've been to South Bend, right?
Actually it probably has as much to do with Notre Dame as with South Bend. The campus is kind of a bubble off in a far corner of town. Most students live on campus and rarely venture off except to buy or drink alcohol. And the ND/SMC population is much smaller relative to the rest of the city than Michigan or most Big Ten schools.
South Bend's not really a college town so much as a town that has a college next to it. It's actually far better integrated today than it used to be, but it's no Austin or Ann Arbor.

Per 247 Top 4 is now a Top 3. OU, ND, and Ole Miss.

He's an EE and will choose right before he has to enroll.

Other than that nothing really different from the recent Scout update.

I'm not sure how we make space but I would really hate to turn away any of these kids that are "interested" at this time.

Ross
Humphrey
Lovette
ESB
Soso
1-2 DE's
Bilal
Coney

Not sure how that fits but I wouldn't want to turn away any of that

That doesn't even include Reid. I think he could be on that list too.

This kid has game changing speed... Good God. Apparently CJ and Shaun are committing him hard right now. He could be a helluva weapon on O. We bring in some more of these type of kids and BK will finally get to run his true system.

Yea, I guess I was giving a general idea of a large group that we have a good chance with. There are others that could make this interesting including Reid. With that said I'm really taking to heart what Coach D at ISD said that Ashton is a very similar player and Ross would be the best way to finish the secondary class this cycle.

You don't make space. Sign them all and then let normal ND things run their usual offseason course. And I bet there would STILL be open scholarships to boot!

Per II who spoke with John this evening. ND has pulled even with OK at the top and he will OV for the Michigan game. Recruiting him as an ATH which he is ok with

Nice! So, that Michigan game isn't gonna be critical at all... We better win that game man.

That is great he and Newsome fit the same description for me. They both are immensely talented. Newsome is more heralded and Humphrey is more versatile. If he is ok with the flexibility it will give our staff for wiggle room.

What does ATH mean from the staff's perspective? Slot, APB, DB?

I've been out of the loop for a little on recruiting so this is an honest question and not illustrative at all of my personal thoughts on the kid. Is he a take?

OK, I try not to comment on direct recruits talent levels until I've watched some film. With that said, is part of this kids attraction to the staff his db versatility?

I thought his best play on the huddle highlight, linked in his profile, was the back pedal-hip flip-recovery-pbu.

His stride/foot movement appears it would translate well to CB too.

Not that I don't like him at WR, I do. Just wondering if his versatility to change sides puts him "up the board" so to speak.

SIAP

saw on his rivals page that he has officials scheduled at ND September 5th and Oklahoma September 12th and he's an EE, so i wouldn't expect a decision to drag too long past those two weekends if it's not decided before then.
