Don Cheadle? He's in a good amount of movies. Check imdb.
And don't leave out Harry Potter![]()
It's a point of pride with me that I've never seen a minute of Harry Potter...[/QUOTE]
F you guys, seriously. Between this and 'Morgan's better actor than Leo', you've all gone full r***** in my book.
The books were a LOT better, in terms of Harry Potter. The movies were decent enough, I guess.
But there is absolutely no way you can honestly think that Leo is the GOAT before he is even 40. He has done SO MANY BOMBS that if he is the GOAT, I hate to think who the worse actor ever is.

For real. I don't get the love.
Reigning champion of overrated movies, children's division: Frozen
I have three small daughters and have seen all of the Disney stuff, and frozen is just hot garbage. How that thing makes a dime is beyond me.
Russel Crowe winning the oscar for it over Tom Hanks in "cast away". because seriously, anyone could've played Maximus, but no one besides Hanks can command a movie for close to 45 minutes--BY THEMSELVES. "Cast Away" is the very definition of acting.
Frat boy favorite. A couple of hard-drinking, wise-cracking Irish guys get Latin tattoos, don trench coats, and play vigilante. Played very well with its target audience, but not much appeal beyond it.
Disney's getting back to its roots with musical updates on classic fairy tales. Tangled was a huge success, and Frozen is just following up on that. My main gripe with it is how fucking girly it is. I have four kids aged 5 and younger, and the oldest 3 are all boys. My wife and mother-in-law are always trying to get them to watch Frozen, but I won't have it. There's not a single positive male role in that movie. All of the villains are male, and the only sympathetic guy-- Kristoff-- is a weirdo raised by rock trolls who talks to his pet reindeer. The producers even go so far as to conspicuously rob Kristoff of his heroic moment at the end of the movie by having Anna sacrifice herself for Elsa. Hate that movie.
I'm not an Oscar buff, so take this with a grain of salt, but I've always read that Crowe's Oscar for Gladiator was a make-up for a previous snub. Can't recall what the previous film was (A Beautiful Mind?), but this sort of thing happens a lot apparently.
Disney is now very conscious of their movie titles. Apparently The Princess and The Frog was pre-judged by the title and many did not attempt to see it figuring it to be a girly movie. Not wanting to fall into that trap again, Rapunzel was changed to Tangled and I thought that I heard that Frozen is an adaptation of The Snow Queen. Thus, using a generic title, you get more boys into the theater than you would have with the original name.
Here it goes:
The Big Lebowski. Overrated.
Tried watching it twice. Fell asleep the first time, got up and left to drink beers the second time. Haven't tried again since.
Tyrion thinks you have shitty taste in movies, friend:

If the entirety of the movie would have taken place at the bowling alley, I would have loved it. Otherwise I just thought it was kind of boring.

Given Disney's acquisition of Marvel, this doesn't surprise me. And to be fair, I don't mind Tangled at all. The male lead in that one plays a significant role and offers up a heroic sacrifice at the end. But Frozen seems to go out of its way to ensure that no male has a positive role in it. Bothers me, as it's hard enough to find good role models in popular media for my boys without Disney putting out movies like this.
Fargo is one of the most boring movies I've seen that is pretty popular with most people.

Speaking of nerd flicks that are overrated... I just flat out don't understand the 'Dune' following... it may not be Death to Smoochie bad, but it is a truly horrible film.
That's an interesting take. I never thought of it that way.
Apparently, as originally written, there was a "good sister" and an "evil sister," but the filmmakers rewrote the whole second half of the movie after they heard how good "Let It Go" was. They couldn't have a villain singing a song that was sure to be a smash hit if it was sung by a heroine. So they changed the whole movie to be about sisterly love. I suspect that that's the reason Kristoff ends up taking a back seat. I bet he had a better role in the original version of the script.
Songwriter: 'Frozen' was rewritten for song 'Let It Go'
My daughter is not even 2 and I cannot get her home from day care without singing that song. She has never even seen Frozen. That song has taken over the world.
I actually think that we have more than enough male role models in popular culture, FAR more than there are women.
And honestly, getting up in arms about him having his heroic moment stolen from him in an animated movie is a pretty shoddy reason to dislike a move.
I mean, honestly, what fairy tale does not have a male hero who ALWAYS saves the day? Going against the grain is actually a pretty ballsy move by Disney, considering its bread and butter for years was fairy tales with a villainous woman, or women (Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, 101 Dalmatians, The Little Mermaid) always out to ruin the lives of everyone, except for the power of true love between a male hero and a damsel in distress.
But yeah, they are getting back into musicals, and Frozen's soundtrack is pretty darn good, which is why it is so popular.

Going to see Godzilla tonight, looks alot like the 1998 Godzilla except really good and no terrible ass Matthew Broderick
