He would have really fit into Diaco's system as 3-4 DE I think he is a bit of a tweener and in the 4-3 he is 1 or a 0 technique

Bama offer is good enough for me.

Need to be careful of this. Mike Frank warned about it on Power Hour a couple weeks ago about just going by other school's offers. Bama has like 200+ offers out there. In some respects its a major recruiting tactic, and many times they aren't commitable offers.

I'm definitely not saying that is the case here, but just passing along what Mike talked a lot about.

this.

i was just discussing with my buddy how i thought we would be hitting East coast hard with the move to partial acc and i felt like we were spending our resources in Texas/cali.

Completely agree. Interesting note is that the staff is pitching him to play a similar role to that of Stephon Tuitt. Not sure what to make of it. Could just be using the name as a recruiting tool but I found it interesting since his tape had me thinking 3-4 DE as well.

Tuitt played some DT in our 4-3 looks.

That he did but he played far more 3-4 DE and 4-3 DE. He didn't have 12.5 sacks in 2012 rushing from the inside.

LOL! Yup!

And I doubt this kid is getting 12.5 sacks any time soon.

It's nice to be able to say, "You'll be like Stephon Tuitt" without clarifying "2013, not 2012."

He is def easy to find in that highlight video. Would love to see how many plays (if any) he does take off. But his power and strength.....easy to see why he has that offer list

Hahahaha the third highlight in that film, at the :37 mark. Poor OL, RB and QB. He made them all want to quit playing the game.

I could have said that differently. Tuitt played 3 positions while at ND. 3-4 DE, 4-3 DE, and 4-3 DT. Of those three he played the least amount of snaps at 4-3 DT.

Power, length, size, speed; first highlight reminds me of Tuitt running down the field against Navy, and then of him in high school again when he caught the running back from behind. His length shown to advantage with his numerous blocks reminds me of Jones.

What rule was there that a 4-3 couldn't have a jumbo sized defensive end.

And if you watch the BVG method as it evolved. BVG likes to anchor one DE spot, whether 3-4, or 4-3 with a big, long DE that can set the edge and play off of him with is linebacker and defensive line flow elsewhere.

I hope nobody wishes we pass because this guy doesn't fit a fantasy profile!

Yea not very refined game and also not very good competition to compare against. Has a lot of upside with time.

True but I do remember Kelly praising how good he was at a 0 or 1 and that he demanded a double-team on a pass rush or he'd win every time.
