The kid reminds me a lot of Urlacher. Not only in looks but instincts, big hit ability, and sideline to sideline play. With Diaco's coaching, this kid's going to be a stud.

Playing LB is like... say, have you ever heard the fable about the Scorpion and the Frog?

Scorpion and Frog? Something about irrepresible behavior and stinging the frog half way across the water cuz he could escape who he is. I might be off a bit...but what's the connection?

Our players have joked about how philosophical Diaco's teaching style is. He has reportedly used that fable as a metaphor for playing LB.

Diaco strikes me as many wonderful things, but a man of few wasted words isn't one of them.

Take his recent press conferences. Ever since he was embarrassingly candid after the 2010 Navy game, he's become a master at speaking while saying nothing at all.

I still have no idea what he said that had everyone up in arms... I somehow missed it, though I wasn't a member of IE yet, so I had nowhere to turn for all of my info. What did he say?

He said that defending the option requires stopping the fullback, and since we were unable to stop him, there really wasn't any adjustments to make at halftime. Something like that. In other words, he admitted that he didn't have any answers for stopping Navy.

He certainly has that look in his eye.

Work ethic is off the charts. I love this kid and I don't care who knows it.

Vbucks aren't real... so no NCAA violations. I donated that, and then used my "unlimited rep power" to rep the hell out of his only post.

Don't know how they ended up not matching up...
