Miami Hires Tim Harris of Booker T. Washington

Booker T Washington Coach Tim Harris will take the position of assistant Director of Football Operations for the Miami Hurricanes. As coach of Booker T, Harris' record was 99 - 10. On this year's national high school championship team, seven 2014 FBS scholarships were awarded to his players. Al Golden and Miami are putting into place a very simple recruiting formula for success - put a fence around south Florida, and each year sign 10 to 15 high school prospects from a talent rich area that you can recruit from a bicycle.

He's only going to stay off the assistant coaching staff until he completed his degree, then expect to see OC 'Ice' pretty quickly.

You could probably field a 6-6 team by signing nothing but the senior classes from Booker T. and Miami Central every year.

Connect the dots and South Florida High Schools should have been nominated for Romance of the Year

Am I to believe Miami hasn't been trying to keep all the south Florida kids for all these years?

I understand the pitch, though. Building a fence around south FL was Schnelly's thing. I just don't quite understand why you're selling this hire is THE thing that brings Miami back.

How was he not even nominated for "most likely to be banned"?

Hi.

But in all seriousness, I feel like I'm very reasonable and respect everyone's opinions (I'm sure some disagree). I have a strong opinion on a lot of things, but I'm fine with people disagreeing with me. Not sure why I'm most likely to get banned, but oh well!

I don't understand why you were either. You talk about what you believe in and for the most part I believe you have a good sense of humor (especially with all the Greg Bryant stuff), but you pissed someone off apparently.

Your absolutely right about Howard Schnellenberger's strategy of recruiting the state of south Florida for the Miami program, and not going north of the I-4 corridor(highway between Tampa and Daytona Beach) for players, unless they were elite. Harris is placing his seal of approval on Al Golden, and the stability he has brought to the Miami program. Actually, Golden turning down the Penn State offer is THE thing that brings Miami back. 2014 was a good recruiting year for Miami, but I anticipate that 2015 will be much better.

This Saturday against Florida State(Battle for south Florida), Al Golden will be playing many members of the 2014 signing class(he'll start a true freshman quarterback). On Miami's roster there are currently 29 players from Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Look for Miami to run the football(Duke Johnson, Walter Tucker, and freshman Joseph Yearby) , and give Florida State all it can handle.
