Savannah is accommodating. They allow open containers on the streets and dark and seedy environment in a classically southern town with impeccable hospitality.

Ah, if that's the spot I'm thinking of (right on the river), I was at that very Irish bar on the left this past summer.

I stayed on Tybee Island for a week, but we spent a day back in Savannah. As much as I like the beach/laid-back bar scene on Tybee, I didn't want to leave Savannah to go back. It was the first time I had been to Georgia, and it instantly became one of my favorite places.

I of course am biased towards Charleston but Savannah is a can't miss destination. Anyone who makes it this far southeast should take a week and visit the coast between Charleston and Savannah. Tybee, Edisto, Beaufort, Hitlon Head.... damn.....One could easily golf his way from Charleston south while the wenches, I mean women, tour the old cities.

Yep. Its right there. This area is also packed for St. Patty's day. Pub-crawled Bay Street twice. Moon River Brewery is just up from here too.

That would kill me. Refilling my beer glass is the only relaxation I get during games. Plus the short walk from the armchair to the kitchen lets me know how drunk I'm getting. I figure when I can't get up I've had enough and should just enjoy the game.

You should have posted this sooner for IrishPat's benefit; he might still be here. I think he usually reached that point just about the time that Musburger would say "You're looking live at...", or that Hicks (and previously Hammond) would say "And, here come the Irish"
