They didn't "release it to the public." It wasn't hidden well enough. Simple as that.

They don't magically get opened up to the public either, Keith.

Why release it into the public eye before it's complete? Especially after the embarrassment of last year? This type of thing doesn't happen at other schools. Acting like this is ok is accepting poor rollouts from the university. We're better than that.

They weren't released. Someone messed around with the URLs by inserting names for prospects considering ND and found them. Not hard to do.

This is a complete non-story to me.

At the same time, they didn't release it into the public, someone found it on their own. They could have not published the page prematurely, but it's not like they tweeted out a link to it. This is really being made in to a much bigger deal than it is.

Completely Agree. Like we don't know that people already had their columns written on the Broncos being Super Bowl Champs. Don't take us as idiots.

IM: Your logical approach supported by reason does not sit well with the Internet. This will be a HUGE story.

A lot of people here are in for a rough ride in life. People make mistakes. Hope you aren't on the wrong end of the stick someday!

Well that sounds just fucking fantastic. Lol. Good ole NSD. When we make controversy over kids we won't sign anyway.

Hypothetically, Quick could have signed with us already. Test it against someone who is NOT signing with us: Garnett (OU signee).

There was a page for Garnett. All three pages that I saw had faxes "in" at 9:34.

While I agree this is a total non-issue, the truth is by having those pages live, it is UND.com's fault. The only difference between these pages in question and EVERY other page on und.com's site is a URL pointing to the page. Regardless, the pages are public and this is on UND.com. Again, shouldn't be a big deal IMO.

It doesn't matter these things should no exist until tomorrow. This way there is no way this happens.

You know, I normally agree with you. But business is business. And this isn't one misstate, it is two years in a row.

It is a big deal because regardless of how it happened... It happened. A year after the EV fiasco should have put these people on "red alert" for any miscues that could be embarrassing to the university. To let this type of thing happen shows a complete lack of oversight. Completely embarrassing and whoever is responsible should be fired. They had their second chance after the EV stuff... And this is what they did with it. Inexcusable.

It's not a question of whether it was truly a mistake, because the public perception is that it did.

I really don't feel like its that big of a deal, people make mistakes and if this truly is a reason a kid does not commit to Notre Dame then who gives a damn

Often these pages go live, but there are no links provided to access them. The only way to access them is to manually type in the web address of the page. This isn't that big of a deal. This is how I found out I passed the Texas bar 6 hours before the official release.
