a quick suggestion, without any intent of being an asshole: given that you want to make this professional and represent the university, a quick edit would go a long way.
Well if you are looking for a proof reader I'm your guy.
Color me surprised that the Lucas oil stadium is the road trip he's liking forward to most next year. Figured the shamrock would lose some luster passing Purdue there, but I guess the kid feel differently.

Those look like text messages... Is it legal to change what someone texts you for an interview?
* Disregard if they arent texts lol
good point that there may be more details journalists have to think about. not a legal issue, but it's probably a more complex issue about the ethics and standards of journalism than my comments would suggest. any journalism majors want to weigh in? if it's a spoken quote then there's no question it should be revised. if it's a text or email my sense is that you absolutely have to edit in order to correct obvious spelling mistakes - just like editing the text of the author. if you were worried about the editing then you send it back to him to make sure he's ok with it, but this seems like overkill.
regardless, you don't put those blatant mistakes in print.

No thanks for putting that on here. I didnt catch it. The coding was effing up when i posted it originally and that was the edited copy. So I had to re-do the coding and copied the original document and posted it without thinking about the revised copy haha. Fixed.

With his home life stabilized, Williams was able to dedicate himself to football. In the three years that he has played, Berrien Springs coach Bill Bergan has seen Williams grow and learn and prosper, and marvels that a guy Williams' size was able to place fifth in the state in the shot put and seventh in the high jump.

Yeah, I think he would have set the 5A record in Alabama.
You ussually you expect to see the thicker kids win that event. He must be pretty darn strong.
He might have a little Kona/Kap growth potential in him.
