I'll refrain from commenting on the kid. Obviously never met him or talked to him and I certainly don't trust media reports that may be slanted in some way. If coaching staff wants him and he wants to be here I'll gladly take him.

Wow, what a rational thought! lol

I'm not sure anymore. This thread has been from one extreme to the other on.
Whether he loves ND or not.
Whether he's humble or not.
Loves VT
Loves UF
Selfish or not
Committed or didn't
Offered, not offered
Has the grades, doesn't have the grades
etc., etc., etc.

certain "media" types have said though they think IM lies/fabrciates things in what he says to various outlets. Hard to know who to trust really, guess we gotta wait and see how it all plays out. I think I would care more if i thought he could be great at ND but with the offense BK runs and the lack of attention given to ST i dont think his commitment is a must at all.

Take it easy on the kid. It's clear that interviews are a struggle for him and these "professionals" continue to fish for him to say what they want him to say. I couldn't imagine how crazy his life has gotten since the UA game.

A lot of you went from praising him for getting his grades together and being accepted to bashing him for saying a recent visit to Ole Miss "sticks out". There is just as much drama on this board as there is with IM's recruitment.

Most of those "critiquing" IM's recruitment/attitude/comments have been very level-headed and consistent in their caution/praise/etc.

However, there is an obvious trend of attitude shifts around here based on how a recruitment is going (which is understandable for all of us who are so invested in following such a drama-filled process). It's not about individual posters or over-the-top comments, just that some threads can go so quickly from positive to negative, and at times contain posts that might better be left as a thought and not a standing message on IE.

It's the right of each poster to make what comments they see fit, but I would urge everyone to consider, before hitting "submit reply," that many more people visit this board than just ourselves, and those guests could be anyone.

You know, I am as interested in this as anyone, and I get upset with what looks like foolish decisions and immature consideration by recruits, too, but this ^^^ is true.

Proof: I sent tweet, not long ago, about a recruit -- very positive, very supportive -- not to the recruit, not to the recruit's family, just a general tweet re ND football about this recruit and something he did, and the next thing I know the recruit's mother is favoriting the tweet and following me. I say this only to emphasize that people do scout when it comes to their kids and families and friends, so hostile comments can definitely be forwarded, although who knows if it has a serious effect.

Of course none of this is meant to understate the generally silliness of which we are capable around here.

Loy just posted that McKenzie called Kelly and Alford last night to let them know that while he was quoted correctly that's not how he wanted it to come out. He told them that he's excited about this weekends visit. He was not angry with Kelly. JC told Loy this morning that it looks like VT won't offer. Not 100% sure but that's the feeling right now.

- the fact that he contacted Kelly directly to apologize for how it came out is a good sign. Either this kid is really playing us for fools or he may have an incredibly hard time communicating his points in interviews. Either way it will be an interesting week. 7 days

I suspect young Isaiah will at the front of the line for media training when the players show up in June.

I'm not the biggest Bon Jovi fan out there, but even still-- I don't think this is a line from one of his songs. :whoknows:

This makes me think he's planning on signing with ND barring a disaster of a visit.

Or at the very least he truly hasn't made up his mind. If he were sold on one of the other schools he wouldn't GAF what Kelly and Co. think.

He definitely hasn't made up his mind, and he is far from locked in or "in love" with ND as others have hypothesized. I think ND still has a very decent shot to sign him... I'm skeptical that with his personality type he will enjoy his visit though.

Has anybody seen, or read, the entire interview? I could see this as being only part of the interview and having it spun in a hundred different ways to make him or our staff seem like horrible people. I've had the same happen to me in an interview in high school, so I want to give him the benefit of the doubt if it's just a one-liner from a much larger interview.

It all makes me think that we don't know any more about it than the participants do. In fact there is only one guy that does . . .

Or its the fact he is still a young kid. Most adults don't know how to give a 'proper' interview. Loy said from the very start that expect him to enjoy the recruiting process now that he was getting big offers and sure enough, he is. Not the first and not the last to have their quotes not play out how they thought.

One thing that's been somewhat forgotten in all of this, is that he's pretty close with Deeb....... IM made the trips up with Deeb and his parents on several occasions if memory serves me. I don't know if that will help this weekend or not, but certainly doesn't hurt!!

He has visited before when it was mostly a ghost town and he said he liked it. Just wants to see how it is with students and the team there.

I understand the skepticism and admit that its been a roller coaster but I also think people are quick to dismiss what he has done to actually get himself qualified. He took the road less traveled. He has an active personality which can be a plus. I don't think its fair for some (not you or anyone in particular on this board) to wave the white flag on the kid, even if he does sign, just because there have been times in the past that things haven't worked out.
