Whenever i get home and see who attacked me it seems like there is just a string of attack after attack until one finally breaks through... oh well, I gain points overall.

Attacks take something like 10-20% of what is in your storages, and 50% of what is in your collectors.

What I found is the best way to protect your resources if you don't care about trophies is to sacrifice your TH outside your walls. People will raid you for a 1 victory and not touch any of your loot, and then you get a 12H shield. Any trophies I lose from 1 raid I can make back up and then some once I log on.

This is also very true. The TH being 4x4 really messes stuff up with interior space planning as it doesn't mesh with the 3x3 units well if trying to pack it in tight.

Yep - I was playing about 2 months go and every time my wife asked me a question I couldn't answer. She threatened a dry spell - I quit Clash of Clans.

Once you get to the point where upgrades take days, you can back off playing a little.

This. Game slows down to a nice comfortable pace haha. I usually log in twice a day to collect resources and do a raid as my 12H is close to coming down. Total non-secondary-to-also-watching-TV play time is maybe 10 minutes a day.

When your girlfriend wants to watch Kardashians, the iPad and specifically Clash of Clans is a lifesaver.

Apparently there is some type of complex algorithm that SuperCell created to ward off spammers from clan hopping. I def don't want you all to boot an active member, but if you have some fat to trim...

OK Bros how should I set myself up. I just randomly placed stuff just to manufacture money and elixir but now I want to get serious about defense.

• What can I leave outside the walls and isn't mission critical

You want to put your town hall, defenses (such as cannons and archery towers), resource storage, and resource collectors behind walls. Probably in that order of priority.

You want to section off your buildings to the greatest extent possible and force your attacker to break through multiple levels of walls if possible.
