I hooked a bunch of people up with Giants... My bad if that was dumb. Shake's got the goods and Lax has the loons, I should've held off.
Normally wouldn't be a big deal at all, but castles I think are only used for defense in the clan wars. And giants are basically the worst for that.
Here is a breakdown of the best defensive units for future clan war requesting. No one should ever want anything but these:
Wizard
Pros: Shoots land or air, high damage, limited splash.
Good for: Melting giants, hogs, heroes, or balloons. Very versatile and powerful for destroying slow moving targets that don't target them. Probably most well-rounded defense unit.
Weakness: Not the best against archer blobs due to slow attack rate, slow movement speed can be a detriment as well against certain attacks.
Valkyrie
Pros: High hitpoints, strong splash damage.
Good for: Destroys ground units, especially blobs. 3 Valkyries do approximately 300 damage per second splash damage together which means they'll kill a blob of giants in about 3-4 seconds. They one-shot archers and most barbarians.
Weakness: Can't attack air, so they are useless against any flying unit. Melee attack means they can get exposed and destroyed by a concerted effort.
Balloon
Pros: High hitpoints, strong splash damage, flying.
Good for: Absolutely the best for destroying giants, barbarian kings, etc. The splash damage coupled with high DPS means that a group of 5 will effectively one-shot giants and two-shot heroes.
Weakness: Very slow and very vulnerable to minions and dragons as they can't attack air. Also, they can be kited around by hogs and destroyed easily by well-used archers and wizards.
Minion
Pros: Fast, versatile flying unit.
Good for: Destroying balloons. A group of minions is the single best counter to a balloon attack. Also decent for dealing with barbarian king and giants, and their speed makes them very good at dealing with hogs as well.
Weakness: Low hitpoints and only decent damage. Can be destroyed easily by a lightning spell or archers.
