Your retail story is a fine anecdote, but if we're comparing strictly on size, UA is a $2 billion company. Nike is a $24 billion company. That's twelve times.

So Nike has more revenue. It should, it's an older company. Since UA is now a $2B and growing I don't see that as a major problem or concern.

If we get a jumbotron then we should hook up with Bose for the sound system... just sayin.

I lived with a guy one summer who was an audio engineer. He designed and built speakers for anything from stadiums and music tours to cell phones and laptops. Apparently people in the "audio community" have very little respect for Bose, and attribute their success to sucker consumers and smart marketing.

"No highs? No lows? Must be Bose."

Well I am a sucker consumer because I love their products for my in-home and personal use. Is it possible to build custom stuff that sounds better,...yeah probably.

you could say this about any technology company though, often the best selling products aren't technically the best..Marketing at work.

That's the thing about Bose that audiophiles don't understand. The price premium isn't just for the sound, it's for the ease of set up and maintenance. Most sound systems were a nightmare to set up in a room, get right, and still look nice before Bose came along. Bose is plug in and play sound at a reasonably good quality with stylish design. That's why people pay for them.

Here's a real businessman!! I, too, can vouch for the fact that Bose doesn't measure up to basically any system set up by someone who knows what they're doing. But the value proposition for Bose isn't premium sound (although they'll pitch it that way in their marketing, as would anyone else). It's better sound than all the other plug-and-play units, and often easier to use as well. Some excellent engineering is going on there haha

Yeah I just bought a bluetooth Bose speaker and I can take it anywhere and it is sweet. Beats the hell out of this in several categories IMO ;)

Anyway, ND is missing the boat. Lets get another big time joint venture/affiliate for our jumbotron and soundsystem.

Protect This House Fridays on the jumbrotron is a respectful form of advertisement right?

That would be fantastic. Oregon State does something similar at the beginning of games, prior to the team running out. Now, there's isn't the quality of PTHF but it still gets the crowd fired up.

Bose isn't bad, but I picked up a JBL made by Harmon Kardon bluetooth speaker and it is amazing for it's size and price point. I personally thought it sounded better than the Bose bluetooth that cost an extra $100 or so.

Admittedly, I generally avoid buying the 'best selling' or 'award winning' products because typically there is politics and skewed numbers behind those things. The F-150 is 'best selling' because of their massive fleet division, but because they make superior trucks.

Yeah I am not about best-selling crap. Make a good product that lasts with good customer service in case it does not and I am your customer. Bose has always done right by me. Anyway back to UA....

The F-150 is the best truck though. 4 out of 5 dentists agree.....

Oh my god. I would die for a camo ND jersey. Either digicamo or hunting... I'll take either.

Yeah, 'ru-rooh' was more for the reaction if ever a jersey were to happen. I'd like the Camo I think. They had practice shirts this year that were blue camp with ND on them.

I would camp out overnight like a Lord of the Star Nerds junkie for a military themed ND jersey...

It's not really a Notre Dame jersey if it's suddenly military themed...unless we wore it in a game.

And I can't imagine how they could ever make camo on a Notre Dame jersey look good...

UA is a bigger supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and I think the switch of ND to UA will benefit the WWP tremendously. There are a good number of military members who are Irish fans.

With Navy's move to UA, I wonder if there will be a Armed Forces themed jersey for the game?
