Time will tell with Diaco, but I think we can all agree he was the beneficiary of A1 talent during out 2012 season. I do believe the front seven, and specifically 3 or 4 players who really made the D was it is, and masked several deficiencies at DB.
I don't think Diaco was a great play caller, nor do I think he was especially good at surprise. For the most part we relied on our front 7 to do what they did, and they did it. Pretty bland overall.
Healthy or not, this year I think was more true to form with a Diaco D. Yes, we would have been a bit better if healthy, but not by much.
Purely my opinion, but I don't see him as the second coming like a lot of people. Yes he did have great hair, but I'm happy to have BVG and see it as an upgrade. Time will tell with BVG as well, but I think you will see an uptick in DL recruiting, and a new sense of swag from our D as a whole.
BVG come on down.
