He better be good. The real effect of the sanctions are just now starting to hit. He will be lucky to win six games next season IMO.

Idk, they have less numbers, but better quality, at PSU and its not like its hard to win a few games in the BIG

I had a random thought the other day. Would Chris Ault have any interest in coming back to college football as an Offensive Cordinator or is he enjoying semi retirement?

Ault is amazing. At the coaches clinic last year he could have literally talked for days. The best part was that everything he said was interesting.

Regarding Kiffin, how does he keep getting these opportunities? I haven't seen him him do jack shit as a coach. He gets good job after good job.

Regarding Franklin, he has made Vandy much better. They were perennial 3 or 4 wins a year until he got there. He was recruiting SEC
talent. He was winning games that Vandy loses in the past. Lets not forget that he is part of a major scandal there that has not completely played out yet.

Some chatter down this way that Kirby is a candidate for the Vandy job and Orgeron's name is popping up as a possible replacement. I don't buy it as I think Vandy goes to Stanford for their next coach. As always, we shall see.

James Franklin's presser was a good watch. Said PSU is a destination job and he plans to dominate PA recruiting.

I looked on 247 and it's very surprising how few top PA guys PSU has signed the past few cycles. They could be in good shape if he follows through on his word.

Yeah, why doesn't Mason from Stanford get more interest?

Watched it online. He def won the press conference. "Stadium holds 107,000. That stadium will be sold out every game from now on. Every game."

How about Cincinatti's tough schedule in the freakin Big East when BK was there? lol we didn't hear a peep about that when BK was hired.

Were you out of the country at the time?

The discussion was centered on whether he could win with a prime time schedule against the big dawgs instead of Big Least cupcakes and whether he could recruit on a national basis instead of the regional basis where he had prospered.

I remember many on here questioning BK's ability to recruit nationwide and on the big stage at ND. I don't remember guys on here saying, "Ehhh...I don't know. Cinci plays in the weak Big East, a weak schedule, and might be in over his head at ND." Maybe those comments were thrown around and I missed them or don't remember.

My point was that the guys on here who think Franklin to PSU is a joke are saying it only because they hate PSU, and I sure as hell don't remember those same guys questioning ND hiring BK for the same reasons when they could have.

Both diehard UGA fans I know are torn on this. They are happy he is gone but are still feeling burnt from the last DC search.

I could see it. Kirby is waiting for the Georgia job. So maybe he will be the coach in waiting.

Totally disagree. IU isn't in the south and they play more than 3 good teams a year. Franklin has made his living on beating terrible teams. They consistently lost to every quality opponent on their schedule every year. If I remember correctly, Franklin only beat one ranked team in his entire tenure. It was Georgia and Franklin cried in the press conference.

His personality, coaching style and tactics are all terrible fits for the culture of Penn State. I believe that he will fail.

The thing I don't get about your argument is that if he made his living on beating terrible teams in the SEC, what do you think he's going to do at Penn State? In the B1G, you can go 11-1 only beating terrible teams.

Which also means that if he made his living beating horrible SEC teams that the SEC has fewer terrible teams than the B1G, which is totally true.

With the current state of BT football, he could win nine or ten games a year at PSU.

Are there rumors of Richt leaving? He's not that old.

Richt doesn’t want to coach the rest of his life. Some believe he could shut it down sooner than most think. I think if Smart takes the Georgia job it would be to get out of Saban's shadow. Some will always perceive it's Saban calling the shots at Bama. If Smart is a success at Georgia he'll get full credit hence better HC opportunities.
