But hey guys, we play Navy every year, so naturally we must only schedule cupcakes too. Give them a break.

We open with Temple next year, then Rice and Temple the following year. We should take the high ground I think.

I'll give them honest credit... they are at least stepping their OCC game up a bit...

Alabama has always scheduled a tough non conference game in recent years.

Don't see what is wrong with this.

Maybe so BUT if we scheduled Colo STATE the rumblings from SEC country would be deafening..
I understand they are in negotiations with Arlingtion IN's girls basketball team for a future away, non-conference game. It probably won't happen as they will have to travel out of Alabama and their student athletes might miss a class or two.

Cupcake Week was actually scheduled by the SEC. After years of scheduling cupcakes in successive week to open the season to get an early boost out of the polling gates, the SEC decided to move a cupcake before Rivalry Week in essence creating a practice game before the Big Game. It worked on the gridiron but a number of sportswriters noted it hurt the SEC in the polls.
