No offense, but who cares at this point?
I do since Barnett wants to EE, and QBs gain the most of almost any position by doing so.

I'm sorry because I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere, but if we take 27 (including 2 EEs) does that mean we can't take any EEs in the next class? Or would that not matter because those EEs could count towards 2015 with the rest of their classmates?

He does.
Given all the unknown changes that will occur to the roster, it's an ignorant question.
Yeah, ND could still take EE's next year. The EE's don't have to count toward the prior year...they simply can count toward the prior year.
After the bowl game, seniors (or players who have left the team) don't count toward 85 man scholarship allotment anymore. Almost always, 85 is the main number to worry about-- not each individual class number, EE's, etc.
You're missing the point.
There's a 25 player limit each year. Therefore, if we signed 27 minus 2 EEs, that'd be 25, potentially meaning we wouldn't be able to add EE's from the class of 2015 since they'd put us at more than the limit for the class of 2014.
Again, I think this is a pointless hypothetical discussion since signing day is still a month away. I don't need 20 posts discussing something that is barely indirectly related to the point of the thread, which, by the way, is meant to be an efficient method to stay up to date in the days leading up to signing day.

EE's can count toward 1 of 2 classes, so I'm not missing the point, you are. Again, BB is planning on EEing, so people may wonder about the impact this class has on next year.
The guy asked a simple question and you're being an ass about it.
I'm done here.

Is there any good news for the team right now? Players leaving like crazy, Some recruits getting pressured by other schools, Players having problems with grades.

So is getting Golson back, hiring BVG, keeping Elston, Alford and Cooks from leaving, adding Nyles Morgan to a very good class, and hearing Isaiah McKenzie's situation looks a lot better for ND now than it did a week or two ago.
Look at us
Not to be a pollyanna, but isn't a real silver lining here, that we may have extra openings for the 2015 class, which we're off to a really strong start with, which, combined with a decent season in 2014 (with Golson back, increased experience from underclassmen, and health returned is a reasonable expectation), means we have a good chance to pull a rock star class, esp. given the nature and quality of the three guys we have so far (who can help with recruiting)?

A 12 ounce glass.... half full, or half empty, still only has 6 ounces in it.
Something that is bothering me is this line that I continue to hear about not taking somebody just to take somebody. But with the way the offseason goes for ND they should be taking 3 star guys with interest to build that depth. They may not be the rock stars to start out, but they can sure become the hero when there isn't anybody else at that position. Enoch Smith is a situation I am reminded about with this. He may have eventually went elsewhere anyway, but with a commitable offer we might not be looking at having nobody in this class to fill the biggest void. I love the kids we get to play, but we are obviously missing opportunities that hurt us. A body for depth and development should not be frowned upon as much as it seems to be from all the reports though.
