That's good stuff right there. Keep your options open and if spots are available and he wants in, it's a win win in my book!
A good back-up if AQM decides to go elsewhere, as unlikely as that might seem. The staff is definitely covering all their bases.
Would Bower be a OLB or a DE for the Irish?
If he only runs a 4.8 then I pray the coaching staff would put him on the line.

I think you would be surprised at how many OLBs have 4.8 speed.

I think it's most likely an admissions issue.
So do we think there are silent verbals out there?
They have 3 maaaybeee 4 spots right now for sure.
Redfield, Folston, AQM, Vanderdoes, LaRue, are all higher priority guys. Less to do with silents, more about numbers.
That's Weis logic though. If there are no silents, there would be no point in not still recruiting lesser kids as backup plans in your scenario. Obviously that is not the case though as we have seen the staff time and again keep all options up just in case, which is one of the biggest things that separate them from Weis' staff. If the staff liked him and he could pass admissions, there is absolutely no reason to tell him right now that he couldn't come. There is a reason kids like J. Williams, Hollins, etc are still in communication with the staff, albeit not being given the hard push.
Just my opinion, but that would make no sense to me.
