Per Loy, Denbrock will visit Quick and Notre Dame's confidence of getting him is growing.
Growing? Did it move? ...wait...wha? Who said that? MODS!

He just got back from Alabama and said the visit was all right,” said Coach Perry. “He said it was cool but he wasn’t going crazy about it. He has been to Notre Dame and loved his visit there. He liked the trip and he said that Notre Dame and Oklahoma were the two best trips that he had. He is going to Oregon for the Oregon State game and UCLA has been on him hard to visit there, but he doesn’t seem all that interested in taking that visit.”
What media outlet is this from? Love this quote.
This kid is a game changer, lock it up coaches!
Not much new in Loys update. It continues to look like an OU/ND battle. Denbrock was in his home on Thursday. Topics of discussion were early playing time at WR/PR and academics which is very important to Quick and his family. Denbrock will be back on Tuesday and Kelly on Feb. 5th. Quick plans on announcing close to or on NSD. Loy and Wiltfong continue to like us here.
I don't see how he's going to get early playing time with the loaded WR class we brought in last year plus DD being ahead of him. If he's good enough he'll get the chance though.

TJ will be gone, DD will be gone after Quick's freshman year, and no one else has solidified themselves as an every down receiver.
Robinson looks like he will be solid on fades, and Fuller is fast, and Chris Brown hasn't done anything yet. There's a lot of potential there, but no one's showing any promise as a go to receiver IMO.
Are you saying DD will go pro early or he only has 1 more year of eligibility? I thought he still had 2. Last year he was a red shirt freshman so he should have 2 more years.

we use a lot of different weapons and they all sub in and out... 14 different targets caught a pass this year (which is the same # for 2012)... 8-10 of those 14 (depending on how you classify) are WRs or in the slot consistently.. 4 are true freshman
compare OU with 13 different receivers and Im not sure how they are classified
ND completed 199 passes with 382 attempts while OU completed 177 with 306 attempts
WR is arguably the easiest way to see the field at ND. Big play ability is weighed much more heavily than "formations\IQ", "pass pro", or "defensive adjustments" that stymie other positional groups
I think the WR position is very talented. You didn't mention Onuwalu who certainly looks the part and Corey Robinson played very well for a true freshman. But you're right the go-to receiver role certainly hasn't been determined. We have a lot of time to figure it out though because we still have Daniels and Niklas for next year. I think Troy will have a huge year.
Not to call you out or say you're wrong, but I think he has one catch this year. IMO he hasn't shown anything as a WR besides that he can block. I don't think a player like Quick is afraid to compete for PT against a guy like Onowala right away.
Agree with this. Although he could end up being the next danny smithI agree that Quick is at a different level, but Onowalu is a good blocker and already has the body/athleticism to compete at this level. IMO, that means he can focus on things like running clean routes instead of changing his body, and I expect him to develop quickly in the next couple years.

not sure if mentioned...but one of the recruiting strategies w/ quick is we said he would be our TJ ....we even said when he ov, to look how we moved him around to get the ball in his hands...He is #1 on their board
