Williams visit is an unofficial as far as I know.

The weather can be whatever it is. The kid lives less than 20 minutes from campus. He's well aware of what the weather is. I'm pretty confident that we flip him. Maybe not this weekend, but he'll have a lot of pressure to stay home.

Payton wants to take OVs and still hasn't i think..so it should be Luatua unless the bama excitement doesn't wear off :/

Assuming Notre Dame took them all, and McKenzie qualifies:

18 commitments +
McKenzie
Luatua
Hendrix
Hill
Williams

That's 23 commitments. What about Sykes, Holley, Morgan, and Quick?

Well, to be fair to rtrn2glory, with Williams being local he is assuredly accustomed to the weather and it's unlikely to have a large impact. With him, I more meant that the weather could put a damper on the atmosphere in the stadium and possibly the product on the field. And it makes touring the campus and everything else more of a pain.

thank you for understanding where i was coming from.

I honestly think it's our current 18 + Luatua + Hendrix + Williams + Sykes + Morgan

I think we miss on Holley and Quick. Not sure about Hill.

Top247 2015 QB James Morgan will visit today per his mother.

Hope this doesn't spook Barnett

Steve Wiltfong said....

It won't. Should be a great weekend regarding ND QB recruiting.

Tennessee Lamb said...

Steve why is he rated so high by 247 and the composite. ESPN has him at the #8 QB for 2015 but scout has him 3 star and not ranked and rivals no rating at all. The most telling thing is he has zero offers.

Steve Wiltfong said...

Folks that have seen Morgan in person love him. He'll land offers. He's a good player. Either way, Barnett is the guy to lock in on. Just reporting the news that Morgan is visiting. He'll be a talented QB elsewhere.

I'm telling you I live up the street from Morgan and I'm not a talent evaluator or a scout but I don't see anything with Morgan besides size. He plays some god awful competition. I'm not ripping the kid and these coaches and scouts know more then I do but with Barnett in the fold if you want to bring him in as a second QB if there is room thats fine. I think there is something to work with.

Hmmm, could be Heart of Dallas Bowl then?

But then again, a ton of Notre Dame recruits come from the New York/New Jersey area.

BYU weekend was about as successful as possible.

Maybe we put to much stock into weather conditions. Great job by this staff.

barnett was planning on committing so that isn't because of byu
Williams like what ND had in terms of complete package--not because of game

As of right now, the USC weekend hasn't produced really anything for how big of a weekend it was.

if we lost to USC it would have had a bigger impact than winning against BYU..but that's just my opinion..which doesn't mean anything

Blake and Dru were both there for USC
Uncommitted Players:

WR Erik Brown - Fontana, CA (Summit)

DT Matt Elam - Elizabethtown, KY (John Hardin)--would we even be in it with him??

S Payton Hendrix - Dallas, TX (Bishop Dunne)

WR Allen Lazard - Urbandale, IA (Urbandale)

TE Tyler Luatua - La Mirada, CA (La Mirada)

OG Damien Mama - Bellflower, CA (St. John Bosco)

LB Nyles Morgan - Crete, IL (Crete-Monee)--IF WE LOST, i doubt we would even be in it w/ him

WR/ATH Michiah Quick - Fresno, CA (Central East)--makes an easier decision

RB/ATH Bo Scarbrough - Bradenton, FL (IMG Academy)

DB/ATH John "JuJu" Smith - Long Beach, CA (Long Beach Poly)--IF we lost, could that decision be even easier??

CB Nick Watkins - Dallas, TX (Bishop Dunne)--COMMITTED

were Barnett and Tranquilll at USC?

Yeah but look at how many recruits were there. About 20 of them.

I wouldn't even consider Tranquill a result of beating SC, I think he was gonna be Irish either way. Plus, he had visited South Bend several times before his OV.

There wasn't nearly as many recruits at the BYU game and the same amount of commits came out of that game.

IMO, the SC recruiting weekend didn't come close to living up to it's hype for how many big fish were at the game

I think Watkins was Irish either way as well. I don't think the visit pushed him over the edge.

the big fish don't usually commit until the end...that is the big difference

Usc weekend went perfect recruiting wise. The goal isnt always to get kids to pop, but to show them how they fit. All the kids at ND saw they fit at ND, its now a matter of them feeling that way at other schools. ND won its biggest battle during the sc weekend and got them on campus.
