Hicks is miles beyond Hammond imo... I too feel like Mayock roots against us at times, but that may be my heart more than anything... Mayock is great compared to_____... still wish we could get the NFL on NBC crew,... but overall still very happy with the upgrade from Hammond/Haden.

I really think the Irish pre-game, game and post game are minor league. Its great to say that we are the only ones that have a national contract, but not worth it. I really enjoyed ABC last year with before, during and after the broadcast shows. The NBC package really does suck. Very boring, they follow the exact same format every game, its almost like we get the guys who are waiting to go big time, but are still stuck in the minor league doing the ND broadcast.

Mayock is horrible. He has two lines that he recycles through the entire game. "So-and-so is ______ foot ______ inches tall, ______ pounds," and "I was talking to some scouts who think this kid is one of the best ______ in all of college football." I know there won't be any more home games this season, but keep that in the back of your mind next year. His ONLY cards are height/weight, claiming someone is one of the best players in all of college football, and claiming to know scouts and talking to them frequently.

It's strange disagreeing with you... but yeah, you are bat shit cray cray here... he goes WAY deeper than that... in fact he is noticeably more in depth with his analysis then most anyone other analyst in football imo... he also respects the audience and doesn't dumb stuff down, like just about everyone else, he assumes the audience already knows their basic football and football terminology. Mayock is GOLD compared to past analysts...

Did anyone notice that Dan Hicks' calls of the TDs (with the exception of Fuller's grab) were largely unexciting? He almost seemed downright disappointed that we were running away with the game.

I don't want a pure homer, but it is Notre Dame Football on NBC. Do you think that we could get an announcer that could show an ounce of emotion? Between Dan Hicks and Don Criqui, I'm not sure who is worse.

I miss Tony Roberts.
