'10 FL DT Louis Nix (Notre Dame Man)

IMO he would have been a rookie in the NFL this season if he went to any other college. His love for ND and the ND family is second to none.

As an ND fan, I'd love to see him back, but as a fan, I hope he goes, signs a contract as big as his personality and has a long and successful pro career.

Saw that Nix hasn't officially stated whether he is heading to NFL or not. I know there is a .01% chance of him returning but I have a general question regarding a possible return to ND. Has anyone heard of ND guaranteeing a job with the university after graduating or after their time in the NFL is over? I'm sure it's not compliant but do you think ND would ever do something like this? Lou would be a great ambassador for ND and I wouldn't be disappointed in the university if they use a job offer to get him to come back for his fifth year.

Terrible news. Like everybody who cheers for the Irish, I love Lou. I think it would be a huge mistake for him to return and risk serious injury. The surgery and the time off will do him a world of good heading into his first year in the NFL.

Of course I would go wild if he did decide to return, but the risk is not worth it. Too bad that one of the truly great ambassadors for Notre Dame won't go out banging heads.
