This is also the last chance ND has to capitalize on the Lane Kiffin era. A win puts Kelly at 3-1 against USC, which is acceptable. A loss puts him at 2-2, which would be embarrassing considering the state of Troy over the last 4 years.

USC won't be down forever. Have to curb stomp them while we can.

They were ranked #1.

Defense will do their part

If tommy does not turn it over and can find a couple wide open targets we will win

If we commit to the run we will run over them with ease in the fourth.

"I'm good and I had a great day today," Lee said. "I think that I'm coming around pretty good. I think by Saturday afternoon I'll be OK -- 100 percent."

Lets go.

RT @RegisterUSC: Orgeron said he still doesn’t know if Marqise Lee will play against Notre Dame. Said he thinks Morgan Breslin will play.

As much as you guys want it to be clear and not too cold. I'm the exact opposite. There aren't many advantages in playing up north, so we gotta use what we got. Give me low 40's and some rain during kickoff. Those pretty little So Cal boys aren't used to that

I would love to see ND stomp the living sh¡t out of the Trojans as a tribute to my good, good friend and ND classmate who passed away a short while ago. He was from Orinda, CA and was resigned to attending USC until offered a (partial) combined athletic (he was a wrestler) and academic scholarship to Notre Dame.

He hated USC as much as anyone on this board. I would love to be sitting with him, jumping and screaming in the stadium this Saturday.

Win one for The Bottjer.

Yeah, would be bad to watch the game in for recruits... but if it's 40s and raining and we punch USC in the mouth early they will quit. Orgeron's "fun" only takes you so far when it's a physical game in the cold slop.

I see this game going one of two ways... either we slow start and it takes the crowd out of the game and USC rides the "fun" and we lose -- maybe even lose big -- or we come out and smack them around and pull away late.

This USC team has the kind of defense that should terrify us. Great pass rushers, athletic DBs that can play man on our WRs. Rees could have a horrible game, and it will be tough to run the ball. At the same time, our D matches up really well with their O. Their O depends on running the ball to set up big pass plays... good luck with that crap. Pro-style offense with a shaky QB... if our DBs don't give up the big play it should be really hard for them to get north of 20.

The game comes down to a fast start for once, the OL playing well, and Tommy being efficient. If he turns it over and misses wide open throws like he has done in recent games, it could get ugly. If we can make long methodical drives their D will wear down by the second half. Too bad Breslin will be back. Same with Lee.

Any idea how much??

Sorry, I just saw this post. I don't know how much. He told people to DM him on twitter if they're interested (of course he has to follow you on twitter for you to be able to do that...don't think he thought that one through), but anyways...sorry, I don't know.

Sorry to hear about your friend, my condolences. But Dshans fired up about the game? Now I don't think the Trojans stand a chance!

Just once, I'd like to see us start a game with a TD. Just go up 7-0 and get the crowd into it early.

RE the first bolded part:
Their D is very aggressive, which should scare us. But after watching them play Arizona, they overplay a lot. In an ideal world Kelly actually plans for this and adds a few wrinkles to the playbook to get them to back off. Something like having Tommy pump fake (gasp) a WR screen and hit C Breezy on a 35 yard go route. Or (since we love to go Shotgun with Tommy) a RB draw every now and then. Just a few plays to keep them off balance.

RE the second bolded part:
I just worry about our S getting torched by Lee and Agholor. Look what Jeremy Gallon did to us and he's not nearly as explosive as those two.

ManCaveQB who was a blogger at The Subway Domer is not working with Her Loyal sons after Subway Domer has stepped down.

His podcast can be found here: The Man Cave Quarterback Podcast: Previewing USC With John Walters & Matt Mulvey - Her Loyal Sons

He says something really interesting and something I hope come BYU the crowd gives an extra loud cheer for these seniors.

This senior class signed in Feb 2010 and at that point USC had an 8 game winning streak against ND while outscoring them the previous 4 years a total of 154-54. A win this weekend makes this class 3-1 against USC.

More tickets were released last night on UND.com may be worth a shot to see if they still have any.

Hey everybody....

Long time lurker... Been on Domer Domain since around 06

I'm a scout/consultant for over 100 universities

Got sent on a 1 week vacation from DD for defending myself even though i have provided them with valueble inside information since 06, my inside info is always 100% right on since my sources are the coach or coaches on the staff of the team.... I'm also good friends with alot of the player's on the ND roster right now and have known Kelly, Diaco, and Martin for years.

From now on they will be getting zero info from me, i will just be a regular poster when i go back, if i go back.

I am not a Homer, i am a realist, dont mean to hurt people's feeling's about our ND squad but am always going to tell it how it is. I respect everybody's opinion, but this is a forum were everybody is not always going to agree, "DON'T TAKE IT PERSONAL".

There, thats my intro.

As far as this game goes, it's all about which team show's up on both sides...
Are we going to get the ND team that showed they can run the ball against ASU, or the team that can't get mare than 2 yards carry. Are we going to TRees be smart with the football and let his WR's and TE's make the plays instead of forceing the football into double teams.... Are our DB's gonna show up... (just so you know, i think our DB's, especially Farley, are horrible in coverage).

If all that happens we win this game by at least 10...

I've know coach Orgeron since his Miami days and spoke to him on Sunday, he has this team pumped up and they are not gonna hold back, expect for them to get right at us with the deep ball and they going to try and pound the football with there talented backs...
Our D-line must hold and bully there O-line in order for us to win....

My prediction..... 31-28 Irish

Welcome.

I am hoping this game isn't close. I would like to score on the opening drive and never look back. Speaking of throwing deep, we should try a few times. Look what Arizona did to their secondary.

Reeally. Rabasa is one of this team's enigmas. Any chance he breaks in at ILB at some point, as we all hope he will? He seems like a guy we just can't find a position for, a natural DE who is too small to play DE for us. Hopefully he settles in at LB somewhere for us.

HLN was on in the cafeteria at work today, and ND vs. USC is their rivalry of the week.... A) When did HLN start covering sports? B) You lose all credibility when you send it to a preppy husky gentleman in a pink shirt and faux hawk who starts his sentence with,"We are here at Notre Dame University..."
