We still don't know who was responsible for the Freekbass debacle. That bothers me. One of the worst brand management decisions the University has ever made, and it will continue to haunt us because the internet is forever. Surely someone has the connections to campus to find out who was behind it, no? Public shaming is in order.

As an aside, why do most CFB programs think it'll be cool to produce a music video featuring a lot of awkward white kids rapping? I think Oregon is the only school that has done it successfully. Unless your last name is Mathers or Macklemore, don't try to rap as a white guy. Why not go country or metal? White people can handle those genres relatively well, and without looking so pathetically awkward.

Exactly - the USC one is made by a few students and I doubt they're being serious. FreakBass was asked to do the video and it was done with the authorization of the school - it's infinitely more embarrassing. haha that facebook group exploded. I joined it when there were about 300 people and ten minutes later it was at a thousand. I asked some of the guys who were at the O.S.C.A.R.s show and they said most of them were shocked speechless and at the end there was a little awkward clapping. Such a stupid idea.

Ups for linking this again, but we already knew who made it. When I say that we don't know who's responsible, I mean the individual(s) higher up in administration that signed off on it. Mandell clearly didn't do this on his own (though that was the official story when everyone hated it).

Burke said the video cost nothing and was not sanctioned in an official capacity by the University.

Ughhh... it just makes me want to physically vomit. The amount of times haters have used that damn video against me is enough to make me want to pay to have that video erased from the history books with my own money...

BTW.....USC reached out to Tony Dungy through his pastor. Tony said he wasn't interested in the job. He did say they need to hire a college coach. He doesn't think a coach from the NFL will be successful there.

See below. It was also reported today that USC said the contact to Dungy and to the Broncos about Del Rio wan't initiated by them. The reporter I heard interviewed said he talked to USC and after their talk with the Broncos they think its a booster or someone loosely associated to the program making calls to try and get a high profile person to pursue the job. Whoever it is, is rogue, and an idiot.

Is it normal for teams to go home on bye weeks? I always thought it was an extra week to prepare for the next team or rest of season. Thought I remember usc having practice all week during their bye week.

They don't put in the gameplan during the bye week. Sometimes they go through drills, non-contact stuff, whatever the coaches deem necessary. But often, they let players, especially those from further away, go home since they won't be home for Thanksgiving and most of Christmas break.

My friend and I will be in South Bend next weekend for the SC game and would sincerely appreciate the opportunity to tailgate with fellow ND fans. This will be our 4th game at Notre Dame stadium (3-0) and our 6th Irish game (4-1) including an upset win over 5th ranked Michigan in 2004 and last year's final regular season game at SC. I live north of Edmonton and my friend is coming from Calgary so we don't know anyone in the South Bend area. We're both in our early 30's. I've been reading IE for many years (it seems like a tight-knit community) and thought this would be the place to make my request. Really, we're just looking for a place to sit, throw the pigskin around and talk ND football. If anyone has a spot--would like to befriend a couple Canucks, please PM me or text me at 780-974-4038
