I see us playing 3 down linemen, 2 OLBs, and 6 DB's. (Grace isn't up for this track meet) Defense shuts them down causing four TOs. Offense rushes for 300 (TF goes for 140). TR protects the ball and doesn't throw 12 fades out of bounds. ND 30 ASU 6

That might not be a bad idea, or at least playing a nickelback more often. The Irish D is getting shredded with short underneath passes and that's a big contributor to opponents being able to sustain drives and march down field for scores.

My theory is if the entire game plan is to run the ball, why not have the guy handing it off have a value added with his running ability? Having Rees sit back there and hand it off gives them a lot less to think about.

i can see your thinking on running Gameplan and def hope we mix it up with hendrix. i just don't know about the 50/50 split.

you dont think hendrix back there makes them respect us down field less?

i see them being man majority and with the lack of separation our wrs have been creating scares me with the thought of hendrix slinging bullets around.

My gut tells me we don't win, but my gut also had us jailsexing UM. Well, I don't want to be a hypocrite so I'm gonna stick to my guns - ND loss by 3 scores. Hope to God I'm wrong.

This does qualify as a trap game for ASU having the 3-2 Irish sandwiched between the Hugh win over USC and CU. In addition ASU will have jet lag from flying East.

This! I've followed the game day threads for the first time this season and the last few weeks have been unbearable. I'm going to do myself a favor and just stay away tonight.

As for a game prediction...ND plays their best game of the season and pulls away in the 4th for a 10+ point victory.

I wouldn't go that far. I thought before the season ASU would be our 2nd toughest opponent and I still feel that way. If we play poorly, we will lose and could possibly even get blown out. I'm just confident we will play much better than we have in the first five weeks of the season.

IMHO everyone who is predicting a win needs to temper their expectations. If we all go into this game with the mindset that we are the 6.5 point underdog that we are, the meltdown will be much less unbearable tonight if we lose. If we win, we will all be happy!

Noted. I'm predicting a win (we dominate the line of scrimmage and get just enough defensive stops to win 28-27), but I won't be surprised by a loss. Definitely a chance that we don't dominate the line of scrimmage offensively, can't score, can't stop anyone and lose big.
