Maybe it was just me, but I feel like Amir, GB, and Folston showed more promise than Cam and GA. Not that I think Cam and George can't contribute. I just feel like the three mentioned are on another level. It won't surprise me one bit to see Amir the primary back with GB and Folston taking reps the rest of the time. It'll be fun to watch.

As far as these rumors go, I'm not buying it. Sure kids may get discouraged w/ lack of playing time but it doesn't mean they're looking to transfer. If anything, Greg seems like the type of competitor who'll use it as fuel and work harder. He's going to be a special player, no question.

Totally agreed with this one. Hope to see more of Greg at Mich!

If G3 doesn't have a nice chunk run on his first couple of carries against UM I highly doubt he sees many the rest of the night. It's just becoming more and more apparent that he's not as natural there as the rest of our rb's.

i have no doubt Greg was frustrated. there is a problem if he doesn't want to be on field. how he reacts to his frustration is going to be the cause of worry or praise. I'm betting on the latter.

I was in row A behind the ND bench on Saturday. Greg kinda just stould around showing no emotion until he went in. Didn't really talk to that many other players. I guess you could say he looked kinda mad.

How about after he came out? Or after the game?

I've kind of gotten the impression that Greg is more of a loner than some other members on this team. Nothing wrong with that really, and it's just an impression. Hopefully it's not indicative thats he's unhappy.

Could also mean that he's just focused on what's going on during the game. Concentrating on the game from the sidelines can help him learn the position from a different angle. I think people are looking into this way too much.

Meh he was talking most of the first quarter to Zaire, Folston, Fuller, etc... But I think he just was mad that hadn't gone in. Idk he wasn't like sitting on the edge of the bench, he was standing right in the middle of the ND sideline, holding his helmet, for most of the game.

I believe that many of you have contracted the "Chicken Little Complex".

I would side with this. Everything I've read is he has a crazy work ethic and focus. I've read stories that about him working out with his dad at some ridiculous hours before school and late at night. Very focused and determined kid.

Side note: How awesome does Jaylon look in this picture?

for those nervous you fill your team with a bunch of kids who don't get mad about not playing and i will take all the ones that do. now maybe i end up with more transfers but i bet they beat the **** out of the patty cakers

Obviously you have to understand his frustration (if that frustration actually does exist). Three year starter on one of Florida's best AAA programs, All-American, 5 star RB, works insanely hard in weight room and at his craft and only gets two carries against a highly inferior opponent.

He obviously knows that we have depth at RB, but still, who wouldn't be a little cheesed after only receiving two carries

I think it's more likely that Greg gets at least 5 carries this week than it is that ND wins. And I like our chances.

He's going to get more carries every week. He's most talented than everyone in front of him, it's just about working him in slowly and not overwhelming him (and Folston).

Come 2 weeks from now, this issue will be dissolved IMO.

Couldn't agree more. Do people really wish Bryant was sitting around saying "Meh... I don't really mind if I never see the field this season"?

I know it was "only" Temple, and it was "garbage" time, but GB and Folston already look the part of a deadly duo to me. GB has a knack for getting straight through traffic, and Folston has that uncanny ability to slide by tacklers with (seemingly) minimal effort.

The issue is keeping both guys invested while Amir, Cam and GAIII get their work these first few weeks and things start to settle into concrete roles.

The problem for him and Folston is that there are not any seniors at the RB position. And there are no reason to think that GAIII, Carlisle, Mcdaniel and even Mahone will not continue to have touches. I can understand him and Folston. That simple: there are no room for all and someone will lose that battle.

Here we can see if Kelly has the ability to handle a risky situation. He can put Amir in the slot all day or sacrifice Cam, a more oriented team player. Or not. We will see. Is interesting for Kelly as a coach and for the players involved. It's a blessed problem.

It's a dilemma. Put Mcdaniel on the field (for example), a guy who deserve every touch he has or sacrifice him for Folston's sake (another example), a player who made nothing for now but looks very promising, only because the fear of a possible transfer in his mind. You prefer two years of Mcdaniel or sacrifice him for four years of Folston? That's hard to ask!! And is an example, not for Mcdaniel or Folston specifically

He'd had better by gosh be mad!

I thought Kelly, in his press conference today, made it pretty clear he's looking for someone to step forward out of the RB group.

It's not just you. GA runs too tall. I also don't see the natural RB style in him. You can tell he's running track because he runs like he's on a track and not the field. That style works good for kick returns. I can see him getting moved to a slot position when he gets the ball out of traffic and can just go straight ahead.

That tells me he wasn't satisfied with GAIII. As mentioned earlier, if GAIII doesn't start fast and keep the pace, we'll see more of Amir and the kids.

Kinda glad if he was mad. This kid has the talent to start now and honestly he probably should. Still you have to give every opportunity to the upperclassmen to prove that they can get it done first only if it is not at the expense of the ever chased after W. I hope GB gets his shot sooner than later because IMO he is the workhorse back we have been waiting a long time for.

Perhaps we are currently living in a perfect football world, and BK was just saving GB, Folston, Robinson, etc. as the secret weapons for Michigan this Saturday.
