I'm glad Josh has decided to stay. With his speed we could use him in the kick return game. He's nearly as fast as George. Someone else reported that he returned kicks in high school. If true, that could be a role for him.

Josh was the punt returner in high school; George was the KO returner.

The sort of role that I'd like to see for somebody like him would be edge-rush-punt-blocker. If he's not getting many reps in practice, maybe someone could coach him up to do that correctly.

We badly need to be a threat there, and Josh has the Blazes.

Hmm, very interesting. Slot WR perhaps?

do we have 2 slots or 1? There seems to be a logjam in the slot.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is Kelly's way of showing everyone on the team has an equal chance to prove themselves and earn playing time and nothing more. I mean, do we really think he could be a player at slot? We have Carlisle, Proise, TJ Jones, and Mahone ahead of him at slot, which is one position as opposed to corner back (2 positions).

the kid has speed and it was even said when he committed that he didn't have good hips and had a ways to go to be able to contribute...maybe he might turn some heads getting the kid in space as long as he has hands.

I'd like it if he was a ST beast. Returning punts, kick-blocking, maybe improve in the gunner role. I think he can help us more there than as the 6th slot or 7th CB or whatever. We are deep at slot and defensive back (especially after Mahone, Carlisle, and TJ Jones are "moving" to slot).

Mahone is in a boot, Carlisle is a piece of glass...TJ and CJ are it...so its not a bad move imo

Also, the more depth at slot (and TE and outside receiver) we have, the more different sets we can run out there. I predict lots of formational mismatches this year.

tbh I thought this was an Onion article at first. Wth is Asuza Pacific University?

Christian Okoye went there, along with HOF lineman Jackie Slater

Yeah, if you didnt read the short write-up we had, he was planning on going to Cal, but that fell through, so he ended up at at AP.

Not exactly what he wanted, but he will get to end his career playing football and thats what matters to most of these guys.
