Staff talked to him about playing ILb. Also, Wiltfong's CB now reads Irish.

Realllly??? Very interesting...

For the past week I've felt maybe his best fit would be ILB. Does anyone else think he could grow into fitting the physical profile the staff looks for? He has the height, right? How much weight does he need to gain? He's 210 right now, so 25-30lbs?

so i text my boss (Purdue grad) after todays news saying "say goodbye to Drue Tranquill."

after i explained recent events he responded "ND getting desperate offering recruits who already committed. Pathetic" Followed by "3 star recruit too. Again desperate"

i responded, "your second highest rated recruit"

haven't heard back

Would be a meaningful get. We need 85. We got lots of star power at the 22 positions. We need depth and excellent special team/ role players. We need these kind of guys big time!

What a whiny little POS. I wonder if Purdue has any offers to committed players. I bet the answer is yes. F this clown.

Best part is the guy writes for the kid's hometown newspaper, not the West Lafayette one.

Way to support a local distinguished young man by crapping all over the coach he is interested in playing for. Douchebag....

haha poor guy. Purdue usually doesn't have any recruits any major program wants so they don't understand how it works

I can think of one right away. Kirk Barron, he goes to school in South Bend at Marian High School. Was committed to Ohio but then Hazzell offered him. Hazzell obviously lacks integrity

Pretty sure Walter Cronkite rolled over in his grave when he sees a 'journalist' use "weak sauce" in an article.

Having just graduated with a degree in journalism, it's my experience that even the "old school" professors have trouble justifying the "rules" of journalism in the modern media age. There is supposed to be a difference between a "journalist" and a "columnist." However, many outlets no longer care about the difference. And I would never use "weak sauce" in an article, whether it be news or opinion. That's just plain dumb.

Says the dope has been reporting since 1986. The situations aren't even distinctly close to one another.

Ben Smith is an a$$ clown.......he's a Ball State Alum, who, as of late couldn't put two coherothoughts into a sentence that makes any sense......I thought about emailing the douchebag, but decided he's not worth the hit on his site......

I'm the same way. I typed up a big scathing email eviscerating not only his logic but his horrendous writing... and then decided it wasn't even worth it to send. I mean there is just so much idiocy in that article that you either have to be a blind hater or really ignorant/stupid about recruiting to buy anything being said. The entire article is basically an incoherent jumble of dribble.

Pretty sure Walter Cronkite rolled over in his grave when he sees a 'journalist' use "weak sauce" in an article.

In my email I didn't send, I dedicated a whole paragraph about how I felt bad for him because he was obviously going to amount to nothing in life if -as a journalist - he thought that was OK vocabulary to put in a published article.

Then I found out he's been writing for 25 years or something? Just.... wow.
