The only reason I could see him wanting to go there is because it's a good school to go and be an All-American corner, but other than that everything I've heard and seen from Nick and those around him indicate that he is a Notre Dame type of kid.

Loy has an article on Watkins up on BGI.

Watkins says he nearly committed to ND on his visit in April, but decided he should take his time with the process. Loves the coaches, especially Cooks. Will OV to ND for sure. ND, Bama, OU, Oregon and UCLA are recruiting him the hardest.

You can't really tell much from the article, but in comments in another thread Loy seems pretty sure Watkins will pick us over Bama ... and it'll be an easy decision because Bama will fill up before Watkins is ready to decide. Watkins told him ND is "near the top" and Loy thinks that if today were signing day, he'd be Irish.

That's interesting news about Braden Smith. If they don't want him, we'll gladly take him off their hands ... give him some time with Hiestand and I've no doubt that Braden will be a force.

Oregon has made Watkins one of their primary targets and commit Arrion Springs (also from Texas) has been recruiting him hard. Might end up being out biggest competition.

Not to go all TP on ya, but I feel pretty good about the class so far. Even without Hood, it's a very solid class. The results on the field this season are what will bring home the other elite recruits like Nick, JuJu, Mama, Miciah, etc

Not gonna get too excited but a lot of people believe that Texas will have a comeback year this year. There's not going to be too much competition in the Big 12 and they return a lot of guys.

Not buying TX this year regardless of schedule or returning starters. Just don't think they're that good.
