Wiltfong spoke to his coach this morning who only briefly talked to Deshone but said he had a great visit and the whole process is moving very fast right now. Decision will likely come after his visit to LSU.

One of Steve's sources said Kizer was close to committing to LSU prior to ND offering so now it is a "crap shoot." Steve and Loy both tried calling Kizer a couple different times yesterday and his phone was turned off.

I've got a bad feeling about this one. This QB class is so bad it's unreal

Basically the boat I'm in. If we don't land Kizer, we should look for some late bloomers in the fall and take a couple 3:s: guys IMO.

If that is the case, then they should just try to get Luntz as a transfer and sign one other QB and hold out for 15.

I like signing multiple guys in this class and then just letting the roster shake itself out. Whomever gets buried will inevitably transfer and you'll be left with a solid roster without holes or fat.

Kizer's visit went really well and ND put itself in very good position. It's possible he decides very soon which would be good for ND. Family has bought tickets to LSU already, Mike thinks it will be interesting to see if they use them.

My thinking is that now that TR has been named starter, we should plann on AH not coming back. That means you have MZ + whoever is recruited this year and perhaps EG. If EG does not come back, I would really like to have a guy like Lunt around who has some level of experience. I would just hate to have to rely on one soph and two freshman. I would much rather have a RS Soph, soph and freshman. At a minimum, it helps get you back to the one QB a year view.

Sampson said the visit went really well and the Irish believe they are on the verge of landing Kizer

I t would be one thing if he was from Louisiana or somewhere else in the deep South, but I just have a hard time seeing a kid this articulate going to play for Les Miles. I think he understands the presitge of the LSU and Alabama opportunities and is following through, but he'll be Irish.

As for our other two recruits, I am writing them off based on the goatee and homeschooling. :)

Lunt appears headed to either Illinois or Louisville.

I am surprised Les goes after Midwestern QBs. I heard he doesn't think they have the chest to be a top level QB...

Wilting said he wouldn't be surprised if Kizer committed to ND within the hour or he could still hold off and visit LSU on Friday. Per his source the family is going to discuss tonight.

Could commit to ND at any moment or could still visit LSU. Kizer family is going to talk it over tonight per Wiltfong

EDIT: what he said

Watching his tape, listening to him talk, and knowing that he is a 3-sport athlete, I think this kid will be a great addition if we land him.

It will be nice to have a 6'5" QB who has clearly not reached his potential physically or athletically to push Zaire (and hopefully Golson) in the years to come.

Gotta love his visit coinciding with Solomon Thomas's visit. Positive energy can be contagious.

I think Kizer left shortly after Thomas and Lazard arrived

I really hope Kizer pulls the trigger because I'm still cautious him getting blown away by LSU or equally worse OSU offering

Me as well. LSU knows how to show players a good time and Mr. Miles will say anything to get a recruit, sound familiar Urban.
