I thought his injury was pretty irrelevant as he was likely to redshirt.... now I'm not so sure. I know people said he was ahead of schedule, but any idea if he has a chance of physically being in D1 football shape come the fall?

According to the above-posted tweet from Hunter, he'll be "back on the field" by mid-April. Without knowing exactly what "back on the field" means (does it mean "back on the field" at 100%, except for strength and conditioning losses? Or does it mean "back on the field" to do light running?), my guess based on that tweet is that he'll be capable of contributing in the fall.

Where's peoria? We could use his input on this.

This guy is my sleeper in this class, but I'd be shocked if he did anything this year. That injury, although healing rapidly, is a bad one. He's not going to strap on the cleetes and be the same once 100%. I assume he'll have a lot of weight training to catch up on.

:s::s::s::s: WR and MVP of The Opening = sleeper? Haha

Yeah dude. I know it sounds funny, but he's a low 4-star (3 on scout) and I think he's elite (at least pre-injury). His film was really amazing, IMO. If he's as good as I think he will be, a low 4-star is under the radar for him.

Great article on ISD this morning. Torii is WAY ahead of schedule in his rehab and may actually be cleared to play baseball in time for his senior night. Should be close to 100% by the time he gets to SB. Amazing stuff and you gotta be excited for the kid.

(My physical therapist) is going to keep packing on the work. He has no problem with that.

Physical terrorists never do.

Damn them!

Bless them!

You never know with serious injury if a player can make it all the way back--in this case it seems to be a given that Tori will recover 100% in due course.

I couldn't be happier about that--with Corey and James O looking good at EE--with Fuller coming in this summer as well-- and of course CJ adding a big boost to the WR stable--it seems like we should all be thrilled to give Tori a redshirt year and add him into this nicelooking mix of recievers next spring----

WR is full of potential going forward, after looking to be full of question marks last season--very good news!

Torii Hunter Sr on Buster Olney's podcast talking about how Jr's commitment to ND played a role in him signing with the Tigers and his plans to hang out on campus as much as possible.

"Oh man, if we have a day off, I'm taking that first flight, catching it and hanging out with him on a college campus. Trying to hang out with college kids and do beer bongs and different things like that, have some fun."

Basically just says he doesn't want to redshirt next year.

Interestingly he said that he sees people on online forums who think he should red-shirt and that motivates him.

Well if your reading this Torii, I think you are going to be explosive is this offense someday. But you gotta add some weight first. Give it time.

Hunter can't be any smaller than TJ was as a frosh is he? I'd be fine with him playing as long as he's 100%.

If he's healthy, he'll compete. If he's good enough, he'll play. If he's not, he'll redshirt. Not his call.

He said he will most likely be reporting to ND a week from today. Emphasis on most likely. Good enough for me, but commence meltdown?

Eh 36th round won't really lead to a big signing bonus or anything. Taking him there is kind of a favor to the family.

Is the "most likely" part because of getting drafted for baseball or for some other reason?
