Would the news be any less dramatic any other day of the year, LAX? Just sayin'..... He is after all, our starting quarterback. Seems to be a bit overly dramatic on your part.
Let me clarify... the drama level is the same regardless of the day. The chance of veracity is what is much greater on any other day of the year. If you want to post "sky is falling" news on April Fools Day it needs to be vetted by someone.
Love ya bud, and you do a great job, but report the news, not shut it down....correct or not. It's not for the few to determine what the many read. Let the masses determine for themselves what is real and what is bullcrap. That's not your job.
Eh, if it was someone like TP who posted it or anyone on campus... or even if magogian had said "I heard it from a source close to the team and I swear I'm not BSing" I'd totally agree with you that it is 'news.'
When someone says "it's a rumor on II" that's just horse crap and totally worthless. And I feel comfortable making that judgement call and saving a bunch of people from going "omg!!! is he really hurt???" I went around every pay site I subscribe to looking for even a hint of this and texted two people who tend to know their stuff before deciding to remove "rumor" (and by rumor I mean likely obvious prank... at least to me, from the onset it seemed quite transparent... would've probably been more plausible if they had gone with someone like Louis Nix or Zach Martin... hopefully my cynicism is accurate, but I just don't buy this crap on April 1st). There is not anything from any half reputable source even alluding to this "injury" right now.
And as I said.... in the off chance that somehow the stars aligned such that catastrophic news occurred in the weening hours of April Fools Day... it'll be known everywhere tomorrow anyways. So what's the point in hashing through everything now?
